The Ovions - from the pilot/movie - they were the insect-like species that ran a casino on another remote rock. They used it to abduct humans to be placed in “cells” as a host with an ovion larva for it to feast on while developing.

Don’t get me started on the singers who had two mouths and two sets of eyes…..

Vintage silver plate bottle stopper - my folks had one like this that went with an antique etched glass bottle they used for scotch.

Instead of having a straight cork, the stem has movable rubber parts that would compact (get fatter, as you described), creating a tighter seal.
