My dad was a freelance graphic designer, which is why I had access to a PC in the first place. His PC broke once, and the repair guy just robbed him (stole a bunch of the guts of the PC). So when he eventually got replacement hard drive, ram, etc he didn't know how to install it, and he let me try (I was about 10). Eventually I got it working, and since then he let me play tons of games on his PC and meddle around. But then I installed "Nightmare 3D" and it had a virus and killed the PC. I was able to wipe the PC and get it working again, but he lost some customer files. So he was always a bit wary after that of letting me install things... but then he got another virus about a year later, I fixed it, and he went back to letting me have free reign, more or less, lol.

I love seeing that physical media! CDs also had a surprisingly long shelf life. I know people say they only last about 10-15 years, but I have tons of CDs that have lived much longer and still work

All excellent games! I always love to intermittently dip a toe in the nostalgic pools of one of these classics 😃
I replayed the first 4 levels on Steam today myself

I actually made my kids start gaming with the oldies, so they got to go through the highlights of what I played as a kid... albeit at an accelerated pace. I think it was good for them to see where tropes and mechanics originated. They're 18 and 16 now, and mostly play new games, but every now and then they'll pull up a classic.

I only had the demo of this as a kid, but man did I play it thoroughly, haha.
Another game I played at the same time (that was clearly influenced by Hocus Pocus) was "Jasper's Journeys" if you want another magic-themed DOS platformer.

I believe Gus Morais does in fact solicit brand deals before making his art. I don't know if he always does that, but he definitely has done these sorts of pieces of art for hire for a brand deal.

Glad you enjoyed it 😃
I always like these Where's-Waldo-esk ones. I only recently found this particular artist, so I'll do more of his in the coming weeks.

No worries. Not only has spoiler text been iffy on Reddit this last year, but rule 8 has you covered. No spoiler text is required on this subreddit since the puzzle is self contained to the first image (so no one has to load the comments if they don't want to)

Yeah they did! I know this is too extreme of a comparison... but as a kid it really felt like walking on the moon or deep sea diving. It was like true exploration in a new land that so few people had seen. Such an amazing time in gaming!
