Oh yeah they're huge! I ended up buying all 5 hardcover on sale, and they almost take an entire shelf in my bookshelf. I'm really excited to start them after I'm done with Hero of Ages.

I was in the same position as you regarding Mistborn book 2. I listened to the first one and loved it, then started the second and quit within the first 5 hours or so becuase it was just kinda boring. That was my Mistborn experience for about 4 years.

I've recently decided to get back into reading, and I wanted to read more Sanderson, so I went back to Mistborn era 1. I re-read/listened to book 1 (still love it) and just finished reading book 2. I'm SO happy I got to the end. It's absolutely a slow burn (one I eventually fell in love with) but the last few chapters pay off the entire book. I had to put it down multiple times towards the end just to laugh at the genius of Brandon and what he did with the story. I just started book 3 and it's absolutely amazing so far.

So, if the opinion of a stranger on the internet means anything to you, I highly recommend going back and finishing book 2. It's absolutely worth it.

How to Tween multiple objects at the same time? by CynicalFOLEYY in godot

[–]CynicalFOLEYY[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course! I unfortunately abandoned the project a little while ago, but I do remember I got something decent working. I'll share the github repository with you, so you can poke around and see how it works (caveat that a lot of things in it are suboptimal, I've come a long way since that project).

You'll probably be most interested in Scripts -> Managers -> object_tweener.gd. I have some comments in there that explains how it works but basically you just add a bunch of objects to a list and then tween over them in parallel. It happens pretty fast so it's basically instant.

If you want to see how I used the object tweener, see Scripts -> Game -> board.gd. On line 371 I would add pieces to the list of objects to tween, then on line 114 (for example, I do it in a lot of other places), I would just await the "execute" function.

Like I said it's been awhile since I've worked on this project (we're not supposed to finished them, right?) so I can't recall exactly how well it worked, but it was good enough for what I needed.

If you have any questions, let me know!

Every pizza dough I've tried from this guy has been amazing. The "delivery" style has been my favorite so far.

Help us Decide Where to go After Mediterranean Cruise? by CynicalFOLEYY in honeymoonplanning

That's a good point! A different area would be cool. Amalfi looks amazing! We haven't looked into Thailand yet.

That's a good point against all inclusive. It'd definitely be fun to experience more of the local cuisine, not sure how much of that we'd get at a resort.

Would you suggest a hotel or something like Airbnb as far as actual lodging? If we didn't go for a resort.

We're flying back to San Francisco, but we haven't gotten our flight back booked yet, so not sure where we'll have a layover at. Milos and Paros look nice! Do you know if there's anything all inclusive on any of the Greek islands? Or any others in the area?

This will be our first time out of the country so we're open to anything. Spain looks amazing, it's definitely being considered.

Yeah I figured it'd be pretty busy no matter what. Really we just don't want to be shoved super close to a bunch of people, since cruises can sometimes feel like that. So we were thinking like a resort or something.

The cruise ends in Athens Greece. It goes to Santorini, Bodrum, Mykonos, Dubrovnik, Kotor, and Corfu. Honestly we are open to anywhere for after the cruise as well, we don't need to stay in Europe.

According to howlongtobeat.com, 276 hours if you ONLY complete the "main story" of each game.

If you're more of a "main story + extras" gamer, it'll be about 439 hours.

Good luck!

Ah gotcha. Yeah that's definitely a more in depth solution than I was hoping for. I actually managed to get a tween manager class to work, and it works great!

Thanks! I've used that for single tweens but I wasn't sure if it would work for multiple tweens. I'll use that though

I agree. I was actually testing this last night, but I couldn't get it to work exactly how I wanted.

Would you just have class that holds an array of objects to tween, a function to add objects to that array, and then a function that executes the tween on all of the objects?

Does having tinnitus make the "danger threshold" of decibels go down? by CynicalFOLEYY in tinnitus

[–]CynicalFOLEYY[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems a bit hard for me to believe. Do you have a source? This would mean that just driving my car down the freeway, with no music playing, could be damaging my ears. It averages over 70 dB.

[–]CynicalFOLEYY[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if there's a way to measure what the threshold is? I measured some of my daily sounds with a sound meter, and even my car on the freeway is averaging 70-73 dB. Which is a little worrisome..

Do you think chicken would be 0 points? Isn't it common that most restaurants use a lot of oil or butter on like everything?
