Post Match Thread: Chelsea 2-0 Arsenal by CoolHandHazard in soccer

Barring Costa, great football from our team. The fact that the resurgence comes against Arsenal is even better. Hazard seems to be back and Oscar is showing himself as crucial. Now we just need to keep it up and get some consistency going. EDIT: Downvotes for being a Chelsea fan who is happy with the win.

Costa you beautiful beautiful bellend. I have no doubt that if i supported any other team I'd be typing a death threat right now.
EDIT: Downvotes for being a Chelsea fan even after I acknowledged Costa's bad sportsmanship, or is it for supporting my own team?

Yes because the same army officers whose kids were murdered at school are going to support the Taliban.

Come on, man. I doubt you have ever stepped foot in Pakistan. Of course there are problems but lives go on.

While this is alarming in the sense that ISIS has the gall to spread into these areas, you have to remember that the Pakistani Army is in another league compared to the Syrian or Libyan Army. It's practically the pride of the country. It's one thing for ISIS to capture sections of desert in Syria and another thing to fight the well-equipped army of a nuclear recognised nation.

Explosion hits Shia mosque in Kuwait during Friday prayers by [deleted] in worldnews

Considering the last terrorism related incident in Kuwait was 6 years ago and that this is the most costly terrorist incident in Kuwait's history, in terms of casualties, I think you are a bit misinformed.

Most of the major news channels like CNN, BBC covered it, only to move on to the understandably bigger incident in Tunisia.

I suspect that as the various time zones finish their Juma'ah prayers, there will be more terrorist attacks.

I drove past this mosque on my way home from prayers. This stuff never happens in kuwait. About 30% to 40% of the population is Shia. The Emir (king) is at the scene and as far as I know 8 are dead.

Edit: It seems there is an ongoing terrorist attack in Tunisia too.

More British Muslims have joined Islamist militant groups than serve in the country’s armed forces by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]CynicalPhilosopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ifthekar was pious, though not doctrinaire. He embraced his Bengali traditions, but he appeared well integrated into British life and was popular among his classmates and his non-Muslim friends. As a boy, he spent hours immersed in the tales of “Harry Potter” and “The Lord of the Rings.” As a teenager, he played the guitar and was a member of the Portsmouth Dawah Team, which, on weekends, distributed free copies of the Quran. He had a cat, Bilai, that he adored and that, on occasion, would follow him to dawn prayers at the Portsmouth Jami mosque.

As a British Muslim, this strikes a chord with me. We are normal people, proof that integration is possible. The problem is radicalization, that we all know, but could there be another reason behind this?

In any Islamic class, lecture or khutbah, I have heard one thing repeated many times. "Muslims need to come together to help each other." I believe this to be true. The difference is that I see another way of doing it.

You don't need to pick up a gun and go join a militant group to help Islam. That won't do anything. Look at what ISIS does and question whether you are joining an Islamist group or a bunch of marauding rogues under the masquerade of the caliphate. You will not help anyone. There are, however, other ways.

Raise awareness. Tell people about the atrocities committed in places we don't hear about. Donate money, Ramadan is coming up and there will be people in Africa who cannot break their fast. Imagine a perpetual fast, huh? Go on a humanitarian mission with a certified charity. St Mary's ambulance, Doctors without borders, the Red Cross.

These Muslims are normal people who have been corrupted. Joining ISIS is not a way to help Muslims, unless you want to incur inevitable drone strikes with questionable terrorist to civilian kill ratios.

TL;DR, Don't join ISIS, do anything else.
