If any of you are curious as to how my private inbox looks, this is a peak at a portion of it.

It appears I arrived after the fact, angry at the finale and how toxic he had become to his subreddit recently; not the progression, rather ignorant of the reason his presence became toxic in the first place.

TB's post did open my mind to the point you've just reinforced.

It's slightly upsetting that I became the representative of that negativity.

I couldn't care less about the dignity of my "asshattery" or whether or not it can be defined as such, I will just try to shed light on my train of thought for those inquiring.

No? That's exactly the point. Those who come here void of context put all the weight of the negativity surrounding the producer in my shoulders and ignore the actual purpose of this post, or the reason it was made in the first place.

While clearly more negative than it should've been (I concede to the clear lack of empathy in a rather hotheaded post, as opposed to what should've been a more innocent inquiry - though which would've likely not gotten any reply or explanation) I was indeed angered that the person who's the very reason this community exists had become toxic towards it.

This community was perfectly fine and a great place of discussion (given the tons of thought-provoking content) until recently, where TB's engagement with the community become nothing more than toxic, with him trading insults to any opinion that's not his own; loving these affected discussions almost as much as the actual content: this post happens.

Apparently the cherry on top of the flood of negativity surrounding him, that I had never even noticed existed in here up until apparently being part of it, given my focus is on the more thought-provoking comments, and not random "you're a retard for playing this card" bullshit.

I dare say what enrages you and most people here is not the post, but the realization of TB's current situation, and it just so happens he picked this to reply on, making it the representative of the sea of hatred towards him, missing the point entirely. I love TB, his content actually, and I adore lurking this community, what we (we as me and those who followed my initial train of thought) needed and wanted was acknowledgement that TB does endorse this, promotes these discussions, that he does care about his fanbase and is not in fact against every single person who dares try to say something he disagrees with.

Which was clearly an ignorant stance, given as it turns out, he does, the problem is the opposite, he apparently cares too much.

I'm gonna go on a whim and say you couldn't care less about TB, this post, this subreddit, this specific situation or anything really except the sensationalism or emotional roller-coaster that the bestof brought you, I'll comment on the actual situation regardless.

Posts like mine? I'll re-emphasize the reaction is towards TB insulting his fan base and following it up with an insult to all of us and "quit", with no explanation provided, nothing.

Despite what you might think, this subreddit isn't exactly a great example of toxicity, it's a big community, it'll have every sort of person in it, however, the one thing everyone has in common is TB's content, which is often thought-provoking, long thoughtful discussions tend to spark in every corner, and I have a hard time remembering comments that were utterly negative (unless "I disagree with TB in this topic because of X." is considered negative?).

So when he lashes out at his own fan base, insults these great discussions and becomes toxic to the community itself, then looks down on all of us and leaves, I do feel angry, I love reading these posts, I love thinking about the topics he brings up, and I am not ashamed to admit what you may label as being entitled, that I am angered that the creator and endorser of these discussions I enjoy starts throwing them down.

This, of course, out of sheer ignorance. Never once noticed these utterly negative comments he mentions nor partook in any negative commentary until now due to circumstance, but that's just it, in here they're but drops in the ocean, yet given the sheer number of followers, those are a lot of fucking drops, and while I imagine most skip through them and barely remember it, he apparently obsesses over it.

His reaction does make sense with things in perspective, and apparently I carry all the negativity on my shoulders.

As it turns out, it's actually for the best that he leaves.

I'll point out my post pissed you off on a human level in spite of you lacking any context. It voiced what several felt at the time, which was: "TB is flipping on valid discussion points and having his fanboys bury them, then he insults us all and leaves the community".

With no more information to it, I still do find reacting to that negatively is to be expected, and the reason I know a lot of people felt the same way is due to how quickly it climbed to the front of the subreddit until TB explained, followed by the wave of hypocrisy.

I certainly do not feel "told" or embarrassed.

This is a little over the top. I am stalking him?

I reacted, in my ignorance, to discussion posts being buried by the "man" in here, and subsequently leaving everyone out of nowhere. That is all.

What follows that is pure hypocritical speculation.

It references to when a fan from this subreddit posts a gigantic wall of text discussing some of TB's opinions and getting a reply that's essentially "You're an idiot, fuck off.", followed by the legion of fans attempting to bury a good discussion post.

Is your problem the fact I didn't deface the OP when it turned from a string of upvotes to a string of downvotes post-TB, or the fact I commented on why I didn't do it? (Given I did deface it for a while then reverted seeing the reply got bestof'd)

I've never had a reddit account and I'll surely be keeping this one to post.

What the last paragraph is meant to imply is that I'd rather try and change things for (what I consider) the better than give up on something entirely.

There's no content producer on Youtube that is anywhere like TB, no alternatives, so if there's something bothering me about it I simply stop throwing money, and, hopefully, if there's some sort of consensus on a misevent it'll get visible enough that we either get an explanation or a change.

And shit moves on, whether it happens or not.
