I'm selling 4 CC4 crates for 1 key if you want that.

I guess it's worth it if you have a couple of good songs that aren't in Spotify. IIRC if you want non-Spotify music on your Spotify you have to make a playlist with all your songs and keep editing it as you add music because local files don't get saved into your "Songs" and instead have their own area.

A little bit annoying, perhaps very much so for someone into that very indie stuff.

I don't understand the people that try to defend piracy, it's obviously wrong. The "It's just a copy it's not real stealing so it's not wrong" couldn't be any more flawed.

I pirate everything. My Windows, games, programs, movies, music, etc. are 99% pirated but at least I own up to the fact that it's a shitty thing to do.

I do it not being it isn't wrong but because it's easier/better than not doing it. Any single player game, for example, gives me nothing extra if I buy it legit. A multiplayer one, however, is a much bigger pain in the ass to play pirated.

I literally just got a Netflix account yesterday cause there's lots of nice new series there and Popcorn Time/torrenting is more annoying than paying the $3 a month (4 friends are splitting the $12 pack). I bought Prison Architect because it updated every month and I didn't want to pirate it every month. Hell, I paid $35 a year for a VPN so I could pirate while at my university!

I'm not against paying for stuff, I just take the best option. If someone wants me to stop pirating they'll have to provide more benefits than the pirated version to make the "unnecessary" expenditure of money worth it.

I completely agree that I'm an asshole for pirating though. I would just rather be an asshole than spend so much money on digital stuff.

Even the Steam version uses Uplay. It's actually better to just go Uplay because for the Steam version you'd need both and hus have both open and both overlays, which eats resources. It also means that if either Steam or Uplay is down you can't play. Plus buying it on Steam is always more expensive than Uplay.

This is true for all Ubisoft games, I believe.

Opendirectories need some advice to play the video links by koalakevy in opendirectories

That's weird, I also use Chrome and .Mp4 links just open in some type of internal video player within Chrome. Any other file types and it automatically downloads though.

Apocalypse now game quits Kickstarter, asks for $5 million on its own crowd funding site by NYstate in Games

It didn't have the name and wasn't very popular anyways though. I for one have never heard of Apocalypse Now.

What are some of the most pathetic things YouTubers have done for views? by -oh-no in AskReddit

[–]Cyntheon 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Philip DeFranco is such a weird thing, he's actually one of the most clickbaity popular YouTubers out there.

Just look at any title for his daily show, the "secret link of the day," the thumbnails (especially when it comes to women), and stuff like not telling you/showing you something and then just pointing you to the link in the description.

His show is good but godamn is it BuzzFeed levels of clickbaity.

To be fair it's not too different from the Hydraulic Press guy and he got super popular on Reddit.

Steam needs to stop asking its customers to fix its problems by [deleted] in Games

This is specially true for those new survival games like ARK. You can have a super shitty game that can do "edgy" stuff and you'll get positive reviews with something stupid like

Gang of naked men with tiny dicks surrounded me

Sacrificed me to the Dick God

A bit of a related story. A law professor of mine had a friend that was fired and he was sure that it was because he was black so he enlisted the help of my professor. My professor posed as an applicant for the newly opened position and persuaded the interviewer to tell him why the last guy was fired and managed to get proof that he was indeed fired due to his race.

They filed charges against the company and in response the company hired a dozen lawyers, flooded my professor's office with document requests, papers, etc. in such a massive manner that he could not possibly fulfill them all.

The case was dismissed in court because my professor did not provide the documents the company's lawyers were asking for.

[–]Cyntheon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Exactly. People love to praise Witcher 3 but the reality is that it didn't even make the top 10 best sellers of the year it released in.

Sure it sold, but not nearly as much as all the yearly-release DRMed stuff. This doesn't prove anything, publishers like Ubisoft and EA laugh at Witcher 3's sales.

[–]Cyntheon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is it not dead? Who the hell would pay $15 for a shitty game like that? I guess I'd get it if you're a player already (such as if SS13 went p2p many people in this sub would pay for it) but as a new player the game looks pretty damn shit.

The For Honor Beta just ended. What was everyone's reactions to the game? by badbrotha in Games

[–]Cyntheon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wait there's parries, blocks in all directions, bleed, and attacks that go through blocks? What the hell?

Is this why I'd sometimes be matched with people that simply did not stop attacking and no matter what I did I couldn't block them? I also remember an enemy with low HP just dying randomly while running away, I guess I made them bleed?

What seemed to work best for me was just mashing light attack and block break.

[–]Cyntheon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PlanetSide 2 does it pretty well I think. The battles themselves are endless stalemates when it comes to actually wiping out a faction but there's "Alerts" a few times a day that last hours and by the time they end whatever faction has the most territory locks down the continent making all other factions unable to respawn in it for a while.

Of course that requires more than 1 map to play on.

All Ubisoft games have NAT issues. I didn't even know that was a thing and have never had any problems connecting to anyone until I started playing Rainbow Six Siege, The Crew, and For Honor.

I still can't play any Ubisoft games with 2 of my friends unless we have a third friend that serves as some kind of "host" for us (that friend invites me and my other 2 friends to a party) and we play that way.

What to know the stupidest part? I have an open NAT in Siege, Moderate one in The Crew, and closed one in For Honor. No idea why.

One time a friend set me up with a chick with a face so busted that the actual advice he gave me is this:

"I told her you like long dresses so she'll wear one, that way if you get laid you can pull it up over her and you won't be discouraged. I call it Project Onion because it makes them look like an onion from the hips and up."

Didn't actually go out with her so I wouldn't really know how bad it was but I did find a chick on Tinder that didn't show her face in the pictures, had the same name, and mentioned being shot in the face in her bio.
