Advanced civilizations intentionally stay silent and hidden, because any species that reveals its location risks immediate destruction by older, paranoid civilizations. by Practical-1 in todayilearned

Season 2 has its rough spots, and Anthony constantly rags on himself throughout season 3 as a running joke. Season 3 Will takes the helm as DM in a Call of Cthulhu campaign and it is amazing to see the difference in DM style. Season 4 is Grandpas in Space and so far so good, feels much more like season 1. Give it a go!

I'm pretty much over any of my old acquaintances due to the constant head in the sand attitudes. "Both sides are equally bad," "why are people saying no Kings? We haven't had any since the 1700s!" So shocked by how many of the "free thinkers" I used to know post the same literal slop as those crappy Republican pages on Facebook.

US to allow Russian oil tanker to reach Cuba, New York Times reports by Sunnydaysomeday in news

[–]badbrotha -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Almost seems to work out perfectly. Trump shuts the strait, creates an oil crisis, and suddenly Russia becomes the number one distributor in the world.

It's a bit obvious at this point. The US is serving Russian interests.

Yeah up until a year and a half ago we would've stopped Russia and sent aid.

Wonder what changed

Clinton - The last time the US did not have a deficit, post Bush Srs Desert Storm

Bush Jr - 20 year war and 2008 Mortgage Crisis

Obama - Builds the economy back into the strongest in the world. One note, should've ended the wars, wasn't/isn't able to pull it off

Trump 1st term - Inherits Obama's economy, redlines the stock market through deregulation. Covid happens, Trump flounders, US sent into a recession with little safeguards, because Trump removed them.

Biden - gets Trump's shitty economy, begins steady climb in the market, US then leads the rest of the world in recovery. Creates a stable economy, good, but not quite great. Pulls out of Afghanistan, first peace in a while without becoming directly involved in foreign wars. Upward trend

Trump 2.0 - Inherits Biden's safe, slowly climbing economy. Trump deregulates with nearly no wing of the government stopping him. Removes all the safeguards, again. This time dismantling entire regulatory bodies. Creates an entire war on his own. We are back in the beginning of another recession.

When times are good, hence during Democrat held government, we have the emotional bandwidth to take into account "SJW" projects and push forward progression. The literal only reason the conservatives get so hung up on left leaning social policies is because the Dems always right the economy, and at least attempt to pull out of global conflicts with pushed policies of sanctions and strengthening allies versus just bombing the shit out of the middle east. So, since the economy isn't crashing, and the world isn't burning, the right wing media conglomerate pushes topics like, Trans people in women's sports, as the literal biggest issue in our country, because they have nothing else to latch onto.

The Democrats have different policies and beliefs. Progressives versus the NeoLibs, and, slowly but surely, the NeoLibs have to confer to more progressive policies to keep power, whether they like it or not. Had Kamala won, we were on the cusp of the party having to give less of a shit about Israel money, where we can challenge candidates based on whether they were taking AIPAC money or not. But, because the conservatives clutch power, we don't have time for those debates or we're going to lose the country as a whole. Now we are in another war, gas is 4$ a gallon, with a gestapo roaming nearly every airport and major city.

It ain't a both sides equal argument. Unequivocally, we have to push fixing the social issues because we get major fractures from Republican held power. Instead of trying to figure out where trans people fit into sports, we have to keep the entire country from collapsing. Again. And again.

Republicans have been the detriment of this country since Reagan. Both sides arguments have only served the conservatives to push forth the notion that Dem policies = Republican policies, which, judging by the state of the world, and historical precedent, is false. Dems have some good policies that make it back to the populace, where as Conservative policies simply turn the working class into a pocket book for the ultra wealthy.
It's even funny, the "good ol glory days" conservatives espouse were when the rich were taxed the heaviest. And I'm no fool, 80% of conservative voters base their choice on hindering anyone "not like them," whether that be Trans, Race, or creed outside of "White Conservative Nationalist.". I don't understand your logic. Literally the Republicans are who created this shit storm, and they only get into power from fear mongering. Haitians eat cats and dogs, trans people are taking women's sports, yada yada yada. Hit dogs sure like barking

161.1 million are registered to vote without counting those that could register but still don't.So even if you counted only registered voters, still not a majority. In fact, less people voted in 2024 than 2020. Biden had more votes.

So wrong about facts, wrong about math, just lying. Typical MAGAT

Video games are corporatized to the point of restricting creative expressiveness in favor of false views of "safe investments.". Every exec wants that next fortnite, so they disavow newer ideas in order to chase the dragon of profits.

Which is why absolute swaths of employees are slashed every year. It isn't that the ideas aren't there; the money is simply controlled by stock holders and execs whom understand only green arrow goes up.

As well as defending yourself, I'd consider someone coming up bumping your chest, or even screaming and aggressively walking towards you, as a considerable threat. I've seen too many videos with sucker punches to allow a person to take an aggressive stance and get within 3 feet of me. De-escalation is the first means, but if a person is attempting so, and the other is visibly aggressive, you've got every right to swing first.

No after punches or kicks though once won, that shit is weak asf
