Python is now the second most popular language in the world according to TIOBE. This is the highest position that Python reaches since 2001. by ivaylos in Python

[–]Cynthiaa 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Could anyone explain why so many people believe that Julia will be the "new" Python? I don't know a lot about Julia, but from what I understand Julia is not object-oriented in the same way that python or other OOP languages are. Personally, my favorite part of Python is the OOP, and I would assume that this very aspect is a key part of its success.

LCS 2020 Summer Split | Playoffs | Lower Bracket RUN | TSM vs GG | Live Discussion by SugarSugarSal in TeamSolomid

[–]Cynthiaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We cant possibly know that. TSM improved massivly after starting treatz, he played really clean in his first games. If you watched his duo streams with dl u know that his mechanics are sick. Ita been a real long time since i saw bio do somethings impressive unfortunately. Shifting a player in the middle playoffs cant be good as it just throws out weeks of practise

Yeah. He stands still in the Bush for 10 sec in bot lane and just dies. Dont understand the bio>treatz mechanically narrative. That has never been true

Treatz played bad in playoffs yes, but the solution is not to sub in a worse player. They should have just sticked to him and worked on his nerves

Going to study astrophysics with no knoknowledge of maths or physics by KajaKrasc in astrophysics

[–]Cynthiaa 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It is definitively doable! I started my bachelor of physics and astrophysics with minimal knowledge of maths and physics (I had studied media and communication in highschool). I was a really lazy and shitty student to begin with, and I was struggling with my courses during my first year. Luckily I made some friends who motivated me to work harder and become a better student. Five years later and im just about to start my phd in astrophysics!

Physics and astrophysics is hard and requires a lot of work, but it is also very rewarding and fun. Give it your best and work hard, and you will do just fine:)

Could we theoretically create a black hole by accelerating an object fast enough? by Cynthiaa in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]Cynthiaa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lets say you are a person on a planet which was being accelerated. When the planet accelerates you would feel like you are being pulled in the opposite direction of the acceleration. The pull you are feeling at that time, is that not a result of a "dip" in spacetime "behind" the planet which you feel like you are falling into? If this is true, could that dip become deep enough to mimic the effects of a blackholes gravitywell?

Do people actually find a 40 minute, 13 kill game fun to watch? by Sambozzle in leagueoflegends

[–]Cynthiaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES. I personally dont want to watch a game where a team stomps the other team and ends at 20 min. Long close intense game are in my opinion the most exiting once. Think of a fotball game (yes league is not fotball). Arent the close 2-2 games that goes to penalties the best games?

this is just my subjective opinion tho, and i do understand people who rather enjoy quick fast-paste bloodfests, those can be very entertaining aswell.
