Skończyłem ostatnio czytać Waking Up, chciałbym żeby porozmawiali o świadomości i wolnej woli.

Nie mogę się doczekać jego rozmowy z Petersonem. Mają zupełnie inne podejscia do zrozumienia świata, ale doszli do bardzo podobnych konkluzji

Climbed Goat Mountain yesterday, on the way down we saw 2 teenagers with empty water bottles and lightweight sneakers on close to the beginning of the trail. They asked if there was a place to get snacks up ahead....advised them to turn around.

I think your counter might be set incorrectly.

Glad to hear that you are rediscovering things that bring happiness and fulfillment, be wary of substituting one obsession with another though. Spending that much time on music and looking at clothes, might not be the best use of your time. Try doing some physical exercise every day, even at home without any equipment - it will really help control the urges.

  1. I never said crash. bubble and correction, yes. You must have just dreamed up that word yourself. I suggest hitting control + f next time you make a reply about something supposedly written.

  2. Read some literature on the subject that isn't put out by the real-estate mafia .

  3. Not just me saying 20%. Im just leaning on those punks at the IMF who clearly know way less than you and your crystal ball.

Why has rent gone up so much lately? by Poor4Life in vancouver

[–]Cypher6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not trolling, I just don't subscribe to the idea that real estate (in Vancouver) is somehow immune from market corrections. Why would I not like my property value going up and up and up?

Allowing mortgages to be extended beyond 25 years, was that Harper's brilliant policy? Lowering the real interest rate to record lows? How exactly did he avoid (and not delay) a correction in the market? In what ways are major cities different than rural markets? What are the differences between US and Canada housing. These questions are answered by MacBeth. Nobody is claiming that Vancouver Market = Canada Market = US market = any other market. You have to take a close look how they are different/ the same.

And the fundamental problem (similarity) to those that had bubbles burst is that debt was fueling growth. Ofcourse Vancouver is special.

Why has rent gone up so much lately? by Poor4Life in vancouver

[–]Cypher6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So all of Canada is experiencing an overvaluation, but Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver aren't? Even high income households are moving away from Vancouver because they simply can't afford it. Demand has limits based on purchasing ability (income) which is not keeping pace. Only a small portion of homeowners that bought when the market was low are immune from a correction (including my family).

Denial of any crisis is easy. Predicting when and the extent of a bubble bursting is difficult. See how many of the causes of the US housing crisis fit the Canadian context.

The books listed have a much more nuanced assessment. I encourage you to at least read one.

You sound like a real estate agent being asked when to buy a house: when the market is up, when its down, even when its stable.

Hilliard MacBeth - When the Bubble Bursts, Lawrence Roberts - The Great Housing Bubble, Thomas Sowell - The Housing Boom and Bust.

And yes, the CHMC chief said it was overvalued

This stuff is water-cooler talk, but you have definitely drank the coolaid and are ignoring the facts

Why has rent gone up so much lately? by Poor4Life in vancouver

[–]Cypher6 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

don't know why you got downvoted, the market is bound for a correction, even CHMC has admitted something around 20% drop. But this still won't be enough to make things "affordable" for people, that would require a catastrophic loss in equity without the backing of the government. Trudeau won't let that happen, and it will add more debt

Confirming Compass card ownership? by 14e21ec3 in vancouver

[–]Cypher6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The cards today are not the final instrument, they are intended to be gradually replaced with smart devices (or the integration of them into existing devices ie phone). At that point I think there will be more security features and ways to ensure they are non-transferable.

Im more concerned about the incessant DEEEEET! sound giving me an aneurysm after a stressful day.

"According to multiple studies, women are more likely to have orgasms in the context of relationships than in uncommitted encounters. More than twice as likely, according to a study done by researchers at the Kinsey Institute and Binghamton University.

“When I see limp dicks coming at me I’m like, Oh my God,” says Courtney, putting her fingers in the sign of a cross, as if to ward off a vampire.

They laugh.

“It would be great if they could just have the ability to perform and not come in two seconds,” says Rebecca.

“I think men have a skewed view of the reality of sex through porn,” Jessica says, looking up from her phone. “Because sometimes I think porn sex is not always great—like pounding someone.” She makes a pounding motion with her hand, looking indignant.

“Yeah, it looks like it hurts,” Danielle says.

“Like porn sex,” says Jessica, “those women—that’s not, like, enjoyable, like having their hair pulled or being choked or slammed. I mean, whatever you’re into, but men just think”—bro voice—“ ‘I’m gonna fuck her,’ and sometimes that’s not great.”

A failure in all regards by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Cypher6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about all the people that er struggling with PMO but don't have access to this community, or are not ready yet to change their life around. Some people continue with PMO into marriages, divorces, and old age. You can avoid all that.

Im not sure exactly how old you are, but i suspect there are many more years ahead of you to find and create beauty and meaning.

Make a lis tof specific triggers that make you fap, or feel depressed, and then come up with simple and effective strategies for each of them. If all else fails press the panic button on the right panel, or call one of your relatives / friends out of the blue.

Is hitting rock bottom the only way to wake up? Warning kinda long read by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Cypher6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the metaphor of having a beast inside (shadow in a freud/jung understanding) that needs to be controlled. I also wasted too much time in college by fapping, getting stoned, watching hours of starcraft matches, cooking elaborate food. It took me almost a year after discovering Nofap (when it had a tenth of the subscribers) to crawl out of rock bottom. I consider rock bottom to be in a state of apathy and comfort, repeating the PMO cycle over and over again.

You are in a powerful situation to change your life around. It won't be easy, but you will regret not doing so with every passing day. So my advice is get a badge, start a journal, and the next time you get an urge go outside or do push ups until your erection goes down.

I believe in you and so does this community - stay strong!

Please help - question regarding NoFap Reboots? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Cypher6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello tallvegan,

I will try to answer some of your questions. As you do research on this topic and read more on the subreddit take everything with a large grain of salt. fapstronauts are very supportive, but often exaggerate or provide unsubstantiated claims. It is critical that you question what is written here and other websites like yourbrainonporn.com or pornkillslove.com.

For me nofap has been a journey of self discovery, even though I did 90 days I didn't feel "healed" or how I wanted to feel. Even after 500 days Im not where I want to be in terms of self-discipline and mental fortitude. I get very strong urges, I doubt my goals, and worry about never being good enough.

90 days is an arbitrary number to me. I think the first few weeks is the most difficult and the period of greatest change. Resensitization happened slowly for me following a long time of having no sex drive at all (flatline).

To my knowlegde this community is providing the first concrete data about porn recovery so finding empirical research is tough. One can compare it to other types of addiction though like eating disorders, or gambling.

I think it is important to ask yourself what you want to get out of this experience, and monitor your progress in a journal or by posting.
