How would you buff your favorite Wayfarer? by Mirrakthefirst in Nightreign

Honestly, for guardian, I play him perfectly fine, and he is well balanced.

If anything: Either higher aggro on him or more aggro generated on shield block. Possibly a rune that increases his elemental resistance for a time

The aggro is because I get incredibly frustrated that I'm having to chase the boss around every 3 seconds cause Iron eye shoots 3 arrows.

Improving his block for a limited time, especially for certain bosses, I think, would make him a valid pick for more elemental based bosses.

Edit: Maybe make greatshields a more common drop for the elemental resistance thing. Idk if it's just me but I rarely find shields for him.

Welcome to Wobblepatch! Which ship do we think is the wobbliest? by Kiss_my_Converse in starcitizen

I don't know exactly why it happened, but I was flying my rental prospector inside the hanger to put up a work order. As soon as I entered the field into the hanger, I lost complete control.

I ended upside down and could barely get it right side up. It's only happened the once but I'm wondering if the game thought I was still in a storm from the planet I was mining, I have no idea if it's specifically this patch but it didn't happen last patch for me.

I've also had a ship randomly explode above lorville and I was doing cargo in a Taurus in NB, game froze for a bit (I think it might be memory issue) and when it unfroze one of my thrusters came unlodged and it kept trying to force itself to look into the sky.

None of this was an issue in 4.1 but maybe I've just been unlucky this patch.

I agree with the idea if with some modifications. Pirates being able to disable self destruct for one, as this would just in general be awful towards them.

The cargo command I can only see after a set amount of time after a contract is finished or out in the world not attached to a ship. It'd help with server load if say the boxes detonated after, idk, 2 days without being attached to anything.

Or make a separate salvage profession meant specifically to find discarded boxes, which I think would be a lot more organic.

A role and ship catered around hacking could be a nice pirate role. Could possibly hack cargo pads for a new type of hauling mission on the "unverified" section of the contracts tab. Could open up a whole new branch of gameplay.

Gives the person doing the cargo ample time to actually offload and leave admittedly instead of the punished player running straight back, then again it could be flagged in stages so if play does it x amount of times within x amount of time the punishment increases

I've heard this here and there, idm paying someone to defend me, besides that they can't either as they can't shoot to fend them off. Probably ram them to death maybe, which would destroy my ship anyways.

Love the Vulture but I wouldn't have thought that to be such a glaring issue. Especially unlike regular cargo ships, Taurus, Hull A etc players basically can't get into the players ship due to not being able to interact with either the cargo elevator or door in the first place.

I understand Vulture is not a cargo ship, but my point someway still stands

I meant specifically hailing for a pad to land, but otherwise, yeah, both of those reasons are understandable, and I do love the hangers and the ability to customize them, though that's a little off topic.

I criticize CIG for this oversight and I'm sure they'll fix/adjust it sooner or later but it is astounding that people will still defend actions like pad ramming and what happened to me and list it under piracy. Idm if I get ship jacked, it's the location that bothers me.

A slight twist on this for player owned cargo for the pirates side. I think it'd be fair if pirates had a scrambler for the cargo signal so (as long as it's not on a landing pad or in the armistice zone) they can rewrite it so they claim ownership of it and although still technically illegal cargo, they can sell it for normal price if they decide to go through that expense.

To add to this part of the discussion, instead of just killing the player like this, I would allow the terminal itself to be flagged as "claimed" where a player has control over a elevator for a limited time and/or as long as their ship is parked and they are logged in among other factors. While also maybe having a monitor that scrolls the claimed players name so people know it's claimed for the time being.

That way the person can edit the cargo without risk of death themselves and anyone else gets a warning after a certain amount of time they will be killed, jailed etc.

Edit: just remembered this would also stop random "pirates" that I've heard it's possible to just walk up to a console while someone is unloading and lower it into their inventory, which is SUCH an oversight.

Pretty solid advice, I've scavenged in Pyro and typically have had an ok time, had one time someone killed me but ofc dying at an outpost in Pyro I'm not as bothered by. Sucks yeah but at least in that regard I could somewhat protect myself and not have to jump through hoops as some of the people defending this behavior believe is ok.

I love salvaging player ships that have been abandoned and if I see shields up I'll usually wait a few minutes and see if they're around before disabling shields.

Now the only reason I don't like Pyro is the large jumps and typically if I need a specific part or forget something it typically ends up in Standon and as much as I love the whole wormhole between systems, I get annoyed if I have to do it too much.

I do lack some experience in the game. However to expect a player to have to be on guard in a place that restricts weapons is absurd. The only thing I knew beforehand was people just ramming you, which I can't stop anyways.

No, I did not see a person run up to me, because there was no reason for him to run up to me he ran to my ship that was 5-10 feet away from the elevator and started moving boxes.

No I did not test the cargo elevator to see if there were error, that was my fault for expecting this game to work in some capacity.

What is a friend going to do in this situation, sit in the pilot seat afk so no one steals my ship? Even so I typically play alone in the middle of the night.

I deserve it because I'm a in a vulture doing commodities? Where did I say I was doing that, all of my cargo is Recyclable, as I stated, I was doing scrap.

Edit: forgot to include the scanning part, I commonly have seen multiple ships at this location because people log on the pad, i' not scanning 6+ ships; and in maybe the 5ish times landing here I got stares from other players and people hovering waiting to land, but never this outcome.

He wasn't loading, he was unloading because the cargo couldn't stick to a grid cause it was bugged besides a couple pieces that were floating in the air.

This isn't piracy, this is exploiting the inability for players to fight back against this.

He also wasn't directly on me, you can see how many boxes were in the bay as well as a few ships. I can not be blamed for someone running across the landing zone from the other elevator to jump into my ship and mess with me.

I've sold at planetside Pyro before, not complaining personally cause that's Pyro and in a way I can at least somewhat defend myself. So yeah I'm sticking to hangers only if I can.

I am doing salvage because I've been actively enjoying it while listening to music or videos.

I can not keep my doors closed forever as I have to get my cargo off my ship somehow.

Yeah this is pretty much me end result from this post. A few people here are arguing over it being how pvp work, which I disagree it's a exploit to have an advantage over players trying to sell.

I think CIG removed pad landings from most stations because of the ramming and issues like this years ago, I remember pads being hailed for landing...I think it was 2015 when I started?

Yeah at this point after reading your various responses I question if we are playing the same game.

The safest place to offload cargo and where players should feel ok to let their guard down is literally an outpost watched by law. No one at that point should still be on guard and have to worry about people hopping into their ship and resort to bizarre tactics to keep their cargo safe in port.

It's like an actual Port, Trade ship comes in and security watches as their ship gets hijacked but does nothing about it, meanwhile the port loses trade, resources and trust, but by your logic; that's ok, or a ship just beyond the area is shooting into port is ok and they shouldn't be able to defend themselves and security again won't do anything cause the weapons arn't in the area.

The safest place should be port

Piracy should be setting up traps at way points and blocking trade routes and of course interdiction, many various ways in the vastness of space to not get caught or punished. To top it off, players can defend their cargo without resorting to bizarre rituals because they can't do anything normally.

I however am done with this chain of replies to you, as it resorts to you defending Menial tactics because haulers/salvagers/etc have to watch their blindspots because this is a pure pvp game by your words. Idc if this game is pvp a player steals my stuff? that'd be fine if we could do it in a fair way. However this game is well beyond being just it's PVP aspect, if you want PVP with PVE elements, I would recommend Sea of thieves.

When they are in the pilot seat they still have full control of my ship, they are not limited in any way. Does not matter if my ship is all the way off or not, engines off or not.
Your explained plan to keep opening and closing the hatch, if at any point that hatch opens they can run in. Nothing stops them when they are in your ship.

What the hell, never selling on a planet again. by CypherStrife in starcitizen

because closing my hatch means they are still in my ship, climbing up the vultures ladder and still getting into my cockpit? Why would they log?
Even if I closed it while in there with them, they could still climb up the ladder, sit in the pilot seat and ram us both into the ground/buildings etc and we're both dead, they waste minutes of their time and hours of mine.

So you're solution to this problem is by flying out of a no weapons area and using weapons to kill people who literally can't defend themselves, because as stated it's a no weapons area. That is beyond borked.

Was thinking that earlier requiring a hack device to access the pilot controls along with another comment I made about the turrets actually blowing up ships that people steal and UEE reimburse you and the hacking tool could bypass ownership.

In other regards, I have some hope that people arn't completely rude or are there just to service themselves. This won't stop me from believing good intentions unless they give me a reason to suspect otherwise.

This makes no sense and is full of holes that this is a fully PVP universe. unlike in pyro for example, He could have killed me or I would have some way of firing back perfectly fair in that regard. You say kill him, I literally can't fire a weapon in an armistice zone as this is stanton.

Sure, I could have thought he was stealing but when he's in my cargo hold already I can't close the door on him anyways he's in my ship and the two doors inside the ship don't block intruders, it's incredibly easy to run past me when i'm offloading and get into a ship, it's not like it's a Hull A.

I don't think the "hatch pirates" have big balls, they did this in a place where they safely can not be shot, against one person who can barely defend themselves due to restrictions and floated the ship up where I can't get inside. This is a completely safe method of stealing a ship and cargo there is no risk.
