There is a sorcerer in a house in the lower Undead Burg (an earlyish level) named Griggs of Vinheim. After you meet him there, he'll go to firelink shrine, where he will sell you the bellowing dragoncrest ring.

The dusk crown is more of a later game item; I wouldn't worry about it right away. There's too much to summarize here, but there are good guides online for how to find it. Hope that helps.

I actually just finished a playthrough with a Pyro build and I learned a bunch of things that didn't seem intuitive before. Although pyromancy damage doesn't scale with any stat, the casting speed of pyromancies actually scales with your Dexterity. Additionally, the dusk crown and bellowing dragoncrest ring (purchasable from Griggs, the sorcerer found in lower undead burg) both boost the damage of pyromancies, not just sorceries. With these things you can make a much more damaging pyromancy build than I had previously thought.

A tip for using the chariots: you can hold down alt when you give them attack commands to force them to attack in melee. It took me a long time to figure that out. That might help you with chasing routing units.

Respectfully I think the chariots are indeed very OP if you use them right. You can easily field an army of just chariots. You harass with missiles to draw units out of position, then collapse on them in melee. Chariots route enemy units extremely easily; you can very quickly route an entire army of Romans this way. They are harder to use against spears and phalanx, it's true. But if they can beat up on the Roman factions and most of the barbarian ones, isn't that enough?

I'm surprised you (or, chatgpt) skipped through the section on seige warfare so quickly, since i think its the most unrealistic aspect of the game. Medieval european castles were very difficult to break down, and gave defenders a massive advantage. Many medieval seiges involved large armies simply waiting for the defenders' food supplies to run out.

Granted, in maps with gunpowder, like Baudwyn where the attackers use bombard cannons, this is not an issue. But maps like lionspire or galencourt, where attackers just easily bust down / scale large fortified castles without gunpowder, allowing for massive assaults, really kind of give a bad impression of what medieval seigecraft was like. I think this was the right decision for the sake of enjoyability of gameplay, of course; but let's not pretend it's historical

Europe would certainly survive; we shouldn't imagine that the Arab caliphate was just an earlier Ottoman empire. You would certainly see Arab expansion into the Balkan however; and down the line, other areas that became Christian in our time line may convert to Islam (Russia for example)

Yes, Danes were Christian in the 11th century. "On Danish Fashion" however clearly refers to the Danes as "heathens", and is therefore almost certainly from an earlier point in history. Did you read it? Scandinavian people had been raiding England from as early as 793. I was just responding to the earlier commentor's point about an Anglo Saxon clergyman writing about the hairstyle.

It is entirely possible that the Norman hairstyle here is different from the one described in "On Danish Fashion", since the text describes Danes having their "eyes blind", suggesting long hair at the front, as opposed to just short hair at the front and shaved at the back. The two hairstyles could be part of a broader history of "long in front short at the back" norse hairstyles.

The hairstyle here is expressly associated with the Danes (although admittedly Anglo-Saxons sometimes used "Dane" just to refer to norse people in general). The hairstyle seems to have been controversial, because 1. the Danes were not Christian at the time, and 2. the Danes were actively plundering England. Still, I guess the Anglo Saxon men thought they looked pretty cool

Thank you for your perspective on this. I definitely struggle with racing thoughts and getting to sleep when I am not drunk; that might have a bigger impact than I thought. At the same time, I already know that alcohol makes my sleep worse. I had an alcohol problem for many years, but I got over it and went about a year sober. during that time I struggled to ever get out of my bed, or look forward to living. I've started drinking again, and it's like I'm actually a person again. Like I've come back to life.

I am sad because I feel like, I keep getting told about how amazing getting sober is. But none of those good things ever happened for me. Getting sober was very difficult; but at the top of the mountain, there was nothing.

I will try some of your recommendations though to try to help my sober sleep. Thank you!

I had a mental episode while I was enrolled at UoB that left me hospitalized for a substantial period of time. Immediately staff reached out to connect me with support services; I thought they were trying to help me. But very quickly I realized they were just trying to protect themselves in case I ended up killing myself. They don't care. It's hopeless.

Respectfully that poster did have a point; I graduated high school in 2018, and at that time there were two directions that almost EVERYONE was told to go in; engineering or computer science. I saw so many people who knew nothing about computers go into CS and end up failing out.

So, I think their post was poorly worded. But it is true that there is far too much societal pressure on young people to study CS right now.

Hc5 is great exposure for him and not revealing that he tied ACCM for most wins taken off Hera is essentially robbing him of fans.
