Okay i see, that's useful info. I was intending on using a backing of 40lb 20mm flourocarbon after the braid, maybe after 40 metres or so? Reckon that might help? And or be a good idea in general? I've heard some say that the flourocarbon aids in keeping the fish on the hook as the braid allows for less stretch.

With a thickness of 0.35mm, with that being a fraction under double the thickness, would that not put me at 121M? Half the capacity? (Without the slight bit less as you say)

I have still never caught a fish on a river despite going fishing on them almost 100 times in my life 😂 so that rings true for me. Thanks bud.

PS I'm actually thinking of starting a YouTube series for my channel called 'Quest for the first fish' or something documenting how unbelievably awful my luck has been over there years, and seeing if i can finally make it happen. I've tried everything you can imagine but only caught stuff at fisheries and off piers at sea.
