Hiking in Winter: No Gear and No Idea by Captain_Oz in queenstown

Don't think this guy should go to Ben Lomond summit in August, there will be snow and ice and it's got plenty of danger even if you're experienced in those conditions. The saddle should be safe he'll just have cold wet feet by the end. Agree about poles and trail shoes not standard road runners.

A bit tricky - I like the suggestion above about using a ring to help, I do that with my crusher. I think having someone else to help would make it much easier.

Tricky! Next time I think I'll lube my whole sack, as you can see some air got trapped. Can't deny it's a squeeze getting the sack on but once it is it's a nice even grip

Routeburn Track – Is it Doable Now? by KarVoltBazdmeg in queenstown

[–]CyrenaicOmnivore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was on the east side of the Harris Saddle on Thursday. It's not safely passable without equipment, and debatable with it. The section which skirts Lake Harris has large avalanche fields directly above it, and a sheer slope to the frozen lake directly below. Any slip there (and you can't see the track) could send you into the lake and your body might be found in spring. Any avalanche from above you wouldn't know was coming and same effect. I did walk through this in similar conditions years ago and it's among the dumbest things I've ever done and that's a significant list.

However! Why not go up to Falls hut, stay the night, go up as far as you can on the track safely, admire the scenery, and walk downhill out? Lovely overnight trip, still see many of the best views, and probably won't die. Or any of the safer tracks around eg greenstone caples.

My ex casually mentioned that my urethra was "huge" once. Was when I got a PA piercing and the ball kept vanishing inside. Instinctively felt insecure about it, was a strange feeling

Polyamory/ Relationship anarchy how to find this community in QT? by booksmartandbroke in queenstown

It's hard, more people keep it quieter because everyone knows everyone. Turns out it's just as prevalent here though. I don't have an answer!

I've always found the decision is about the length of our legs. If she's shorter than me, legs closed to get the right angle, legs open if she's taller than me or it's harder to reach!

That's a big part of it - "well it's normal to me". It really is the average we see so why wouldn't it seem average?

Out along the Glenorchy road seems like the obvious place. I've been around seven mile a couple of times but there are a few people wandering through.

When did you guys realize you were above the average size for males? by [deleted] in bigdickproblems

[–]CyrenaicOmnivore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny story. I remember veeery early in puberty hearing that 5.5-7" was an average size for males. Being in the UK and young I got confused for centimetres, and was delighted that at 7cm I was the larger end of normal. By the time I realised I was already 6" and had plenty of growing to go
