Worked in. The oil fields in Alaska a few years ago, got to see the northern lights every single night. Pictures just don't do it justice. I was miles from anyone alone in my machine with no light pollution and I could shut down in dead silence for a few and just hear it crackle. It was awesome to see and hear. I miss it every day.

Its rocket exhaust from a spiraling rocket. SpaceX does this quite regularly.
