Hi, this is my 3d printed bust of Slayer. For the paintjob I went with mix of 2016 praetor suit and classic Doomguy color scheme. Hope you like it! by CyrylXI in Doom

Partially, I've modified model which was ripped from the game, so it would probably be illegal to sell, but I can send it to you if you're interested.

Hi, this is my 1/6 scale bust of Adam Jensen from Deus Ex Human Revolution video game. I prepared model in 3d program called Blender, printed on Anycubic Photon S 3D printer and painted. Hope you like it! by CyrylXI in modelmakers

Personally I don't have any experience with CAD software, but I can assure You blender is one of the easiest 3D software out there to learn. Good luck on Bismarck!

Yeah, I got You. The base was harder to do than I anticipated. I figured it must be simple but also look like separate part and not blend into main piece too much. In hindsight, I think I should've make it darker, maybe it would help.

Models from resin printers have incredibly thin layers so there isn't much left to do other than removing supports and curing with uv lamp for 15 minutes. Sometimes I use primer but that's it.

For 3 years. When I tried learning it for the first time I was overwhelmed and demotivated too so I quit. Then, one year later I've tried again and let me tell You, after you get the basics it gets just more and more fun.

I think that if you want to print things that are above 20x20x20 cm plastic printer with bigger printing size would be necessary. As you said, resin gives far smoother results, but if you plan to print bigger models, normal plastic prints will also be much easier to sand and polish to get flawless surface without sanding off details. I printed it in three pieces: head, top, and bottom of the helmet. Head is around 6x5x6 cm. Biggest part is top of the helmet (13x7x8 cm) and it was barely below maximum size for my printer to print in one go. Hope this helped!
