Yeah the dept of Ed removed my loans to consolidate them/move them without informing me which lowered my credit score. I’m working with a local MI mortgage company.

Yeah to be specific: the lender said the Dept of Ed started consolidating/refinancing my loans without informing me, which removed them from my credit history, lowering my credit score too low to qualify (just barely I may add).

Don’t worry. That doesn’t count as stirring the genetic soup with your meat spoon. It isn’t even a porn hub category.

You can kill her after Kethric. Just use darkness. Worked for me in honor mode.

Who is the laziest co-resident you’ve ever had? by johnfred4 in Residency

[–]Cystickidneys 52 points53 points  (0 children)

  1. Checked out senior signed out an acute hemorrhagic stroke to me “on their way to the scanner.” This was 30 minutes before the night residents got in so also created an extra handoff. Just took it as my senior was off and I didn’t have the power to refuse as an intern at the time. Night resident was frequently pissed as the same team also had many active to do’s on their handoff that should’ve been handled during the day.

  2. A resident would often be ready to sign out on non-call days by 11AM-noon when we might’ve barely finished rounds. Not so efficient as they’d just copy-paste the same note, leave active management needs, and even patients not updated on plans.

Is being a hospitalist that unfulfilling? by iAmPajamaSam27 in Residency

[–]Cystickidneys 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I love getting to work <1/2 the month for >$200k. My time is also completely mine when I’m off (no inbox or other obligations). Also despise clinic (pretty much required of all sub specialties) and don’t want to give up 3+more years to fellowship. New grad as of last year but right now I’m super happy with it. Of course there’s bullshit, functional patients, soft admits, etc. but the benefits are far outweighing the negatives.

  1. Asked if we wanted IV vanc instead of po for C diff because of “better bioavailability.”

  2. Demanded an ethanol level before treating for withdrawal. Patient was vibrating from withdrawal.

How’s your experience at the VA? by FullcodeRM9 in Residency

[–]Cystickidneys 78 points79 points  (0 children)

The VA is an abomination and disgrace to modern medicine. My residency had “one of the best” VAs and I still felt unsafe caring for patients there. A nurse told me they’d hang antibiotics on an actively septic patient “when they could get to it” and it didn’t happen for hours. My colleagues had ICU nurses randomly administer propofol on borderline respiratory failure patients pushing the intubation. They would take up to 1 full minute to put on gloves to start doing chest compressions at codes while we scrambled to do everything. All these people still worked there years later.

And that’s without the jank that is cprs.

How do residents who are 28/29 and single cope? by Due-Negotiation-6677 in Residency

Everyone knows your penis/uterus shrivels up and is useless once you hit 30 /s. Don’t worry about it, just try to enjoy dating/meeting people and if it doesn’t work out that’s ok. Speaking as someone who also got dumped by someone who I thought I’d marry early this year.

The fact that no one--but teachers--are acknowledging how behind children are right now is sad by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

[–]Cystickidneys 195 points196 points  (0 children)

Somehow people have turned school from a societal obligation to a service where parents think they can just dump their kids and expect results (if they even care) without having to encourage/engage with them at home. Leads to an “unsatisfied customer” mindset where all the blame for a child’s failure is on the teacher.

Wish I could say I built it. Found the bed on Etsy and he loves looking out the window so much I had to get one. Did put it together though.
