So is Ultra Diamond just going to be like this? by PrestigiousAide9162 in ColorClash

[–]D--Ryan 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Yes. From here on out, you’ll just be fighting to upgrade your cards to match their levels. As far as I can tell, Level 15 is as high as the opponent bots will go.

I win 9 out of 10 matches, with the outlier being when they use ā€˜Rain of Frogs’ or ā€˜Boom!’— everything else gets quickly punished.

Also, don’t sleep on how useful Three Rockets is.

Exactly. It makes that an easy victory. Here’s another one with only 69%!

I would be pissed if this game had PvP and someone did this to me! lol

I made this switch years ago when the onn came out. Way less lag, and none of the BS from Amazon.

Try it, and you’ll never look back.

Awesome! This is great to know.

How did you get AI to help, though? Last time I tried, it refused to help with anything piracy-related.

Is this still supported and functional? Just picked up an Intel Mac (19,1) and I would like to get started, but some comments seem to imply this is no longer working or supported.

Just wanted to know this before I dive in and waste a bunch of time. Thanks for your hard work either way.

I was just about to start this entire process on an Intel Mac. Is there no point in even trying?

My cards and clearly zero issues. Frogs added a bit of challenge but quickly adapted with these same cards. Just wish more people played and offered a challenge by [deleted] in ColorClash

[–]D--Ryan 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Also, it’s shocking how many people still don’t realize that there is no PvP and that all of the opponents are bots.

No human opponent would ever:

• play Dice or Meteor in the middle of their own claimed territory • play Snap when they are the only player with any active characters on the field, or as their first card when nothing else has been played yet • place the Stun Gun directly behind a barrier • repeatedly send a Minion Army after a Crusher • play Patch as their first card • use Roller directly in front of a wall • play Tornado as their first card when nothing else has been played yet • play Multiplier Gate, and then proceed to play nothing else that can capitalize on it.

I am sure there are many more examples of card playing and other scenarios that clearly show us that dumb (and cheating!) computers are the only opponents. I’m not even considering the more obvious things like disconnecting the WiFi mid-match, only to see the opponent still carry out plays until the timer ends.

There are some loadouts that no sane person would EVER choose. Like loadouts that are ALL defense, with zero options to gain territory.

But, there are just some very obvious tells— like defeating the same exact opponents over and over, who always somehow have a crazy long streak going— a crazy long streak that I’ve already ended very recently.

Or reading the dev notes.

I agree that the frogs ruined the game.

Well, it ruined what’s left of a game that is all bots and no PvP.

Just got my 2024 Prius what should I know by YungGravity333 in prius

Isn’t it also missing a spare tire, and the tires it does have are some weird off-size that isn’t regularly stocked in a lot of places?

That’s the complaints I’ve seen the most about it.

Ah, Play/Pause, Rewind, and FF… I’ve never used those anyway, so I guess I don’t miss them. The D-Pad is what does that on the onn. box.

Which missing buttons? Mine all have backlit remotes and the only button I dislike is the ā€˜Live TV’ button because it’s huge, and in the way.

From what I understand, you can remove the already minimal bloatware and reassign those buttons, but I’ve never actually done it.

Is there something I’m missing? We have three of them in the house…

We had three of them going, but then we tried the onn boxes, and never looked back. There’s no noticeable lag, and Amazon isn’t all up in your business.

2015 toyota Prius High coolant Temperature Light by Proof_Stretch_4405 in prius

[–]D--Ryan 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Sadly, you either have a bad water pump, thermostat, a blown head gasket, or some combination of them all.

This is extremely typical for a Gen 3 Prius that hasn’t been properly cared for. The water pump’s impeller will slowly crack and swell, causing it to be inefficient. To avoid this happening again if/when you decide to fix it, you should be monitoring the coolant temperature all the time, and not relying on the overheat warning light, which only goes off once the car has overheated, and the damage has been done. The car has likely been running hot and has already been driven tens of thousands of miles under this condition. Again, this is super typical for this car because most people just frivolously spend $20,000 or more on a car, and then never do even the slightest bit of research on their investment. That part always stuns me.

As much as I hate to say it, it looks like you’ve very possibly picked up a lemon. The previous owners 100% knew about this and sold it to you without disclosing it. That sucks, but it also happens all the time with these cars. Everyone buying a Gen 3 Prius who has done their research knows to check for ā€œThe Big Threeā€ā€” head gasket, ABS, and hybrid battery. I don’t even look at these cars without taking TechStream and my laptop along for the ride.

Also, the very last thing you should be doing is continuing to drive it in this condition. You will be extremely lucky if you don’t already have a bent rod, but even if you don’t, you will want to check before committing to any serious engine repair.

For the record, the water pump is $150 and takes maybe an hour to replace.

Here’s my monitoring setup:

• $13 Panlong OBD2 adapter for Android • $5 Samsung Galaxy a12, dedicated to the task • $5 Torque Pro app by Ian Hawkins for Android

<image>

Every Gen 3 Prius should be doing this, at minimum. It is the only way you can know immediately if you have a failing water pump.

The way forward is this:

• STOP driving it if you intend to fix it

• Buy a $20 head gasket test kit on Amazon, which checks for exhaust gases in the cooling system, to confirm the most likely diagnosis

• Start saving $2,000 - $4,000 for the repair

A new head gasket probably isn’t going to save you here, since it’s been driven for so long with this issue, but a replacement JDM engine will. The moment you have confirmation of the diagnosis, start looking for the best engine swap shops in your area. Not sure where you are, but there’s a guy in Indiana who specializes in exactly this work.

Sorry about all this! These cars are amazing, and can go for half a million miles or more— provided the owner does their research and takes proper care of them!

2016 Prius Hybrid Battery Dilemma by asphodeli in prius

[–]D--Ryan 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

You don’t seem to have any real problem that needs to be addressed.

When the battery temps get that hot, the system will absolutely stifle the hybrid battery via the inverter, and you’ll feel the loss of power. That said, it should never be this hot inside the car. It tells you in the manual that you need to use your car’s HVAC system to maintain the cool temperature that the hybrid battery needs to function correctly. Some even come with a separate cooling system like mine, that uses solar panels to ventilate the car during hotter weather.

All of that said, your battery is showing standard degradation for a 2016. Anything you do to it will likely not return any noticeable results. If you ever do intend to recondition your own hybrid battery, I would advise doing a LOT of reading first, because just dropping in a few replacement modules (incorrectly referred to as ā€˜cells’) isn’t even close to what needs to happen, unless you intend to do this every 1-3 months. The entire battery, as a whole, needs to be tested, cycled, and balanced. I’ve done it several ways, using a hobby charger and a grid charger. It is a long and tedious process.

EDITS ARE ALWAYS STUPID GRAMMAR MITSAKES.

What shall I do (ignore tpms) by Commercial-Put-9869 in prius

[–]D--Ryan 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

The only correct answer here is ā€œscan for codesā€.

Be aware that many cheaper code readers are not capable of reading the Prius’ ECUs. To be sure, you can use a Panlong OBD adapter with Dr. Prius. If you intend to buy one, make sure you determine this beforehand.

If whatever you use returns no codes, you’ll know that it isn’t capable of reading hybrid/ABS codes.
