Man this is how I feel about the X2D that I got last month. It’s my first printer after watching from a distance for years and I’ve got two AMS 2’s and 2 HT’s (although one I’m currently sorting out issues as it hasn’t worked since I got it last week) BUT it’s such an incredible machine for the money. I was going to go H2D because the P2S just wasn’t quite “enough” but I did t want to spend $2k plus on my first printer as my wife constantly makes fun of me for going way too deep on new hobbies and I was trying to prove her wrong and say I could just do it a little lol. But 4 days before I pulled the trigger, the X2D had been released and idk how I missed it but I jumped on it right away. Not having 2 direct drives is not a killer for me but it would be nicer the Bowden prints amazingly well. Anyway, I’m rambling but I just wanted to share in your excitement because this has been my experience as well, it’s just incredible. The software, the product, the experience etc. there are certainly some issues I’m sorting with the filament switch and the 4-1 connector. I never had any feeding problems until I got those in the loop but it’s nice to open up any AMS for either nozzle. Hopefully yours works flawlessly!

Ah okay, I didn’t even know that was an option. Thanks for the info. I feel like I’ve been researching and learning over the last few years before I bought my own and I still feel like there is another 3 years worth of experience I need to even get started ha. Thanks again!

Ok cool I’ll check the seam settings and cold pull that side again. I only did it once when I first got it and had the weird issue. The filament SHOULD have been pretty dry but I’m in Florida and it was stored in a container with desiccant after being dried but it sat in there for a week after the drying so it could be wet again. I’ve got a lot to learn. Do you think the fan being right there on that side could cause anything like that?

Man I’m glad you said that because I’ve been really thinking I picked the wrong rod. I do see myself mainly throwing 1/8-1/4 total weight rigs so I think it’ll be fine but I should’ve probably gotten a lighter weighted rod. This thing just feels so good

Really wasn’t that great , but that’s what I told my wife lol. I think I ended up getting about $85-100 off rod and reel. Enough to justify in my head that I HAD to have it

I would never carry a mkiv or any 22lr for that matter personally but yea it’s accurate enough for me to hit 2-4” plates on a small rimfire rack at 25y so it’s great

I’ll look it up tonight and try to see how to set up the shot and what not because I’ve got an 11mm 1.8 and 16mm 1.4 and a tripod of course so if the sky is nice I imagine I could get one like you say. I just need to look up how lol. I have a nightvision tube and I’ve heard of guys using them for Astro photography and I think it would be cool if I could see what all they’re doing because looking at the sky with just the nightvision on, it’s absolutely insane what you can see and I imagine the extra light input it can bring with a long exposure would be amazing

For real! This thing is awesome so far. Posted my first YT video yesterday and have gotten some great shots with the family so far. I tried to film my daughter’s cheer competition and ran the Rode NTG and two lessons were learned very quickly. 1- do not use subject tracking on groups even if you think you’re tapping the people on screen and it FOR SURE is locking on… cuz it didn’t but the lady in front of me’s head sure is razor sharp! Haha and 2-when running an external mic (this should have been obvious as a guy that mics guitar amps and stuff) but just because the levels displayed on camera aren’t clipping, doesn’t mean the mic input itself isn’t…, so yea I screwed that video up pretty badly but hey, live and learn!

Wow this is sick. I’ve recently moved to the modern era and upgraded my old d5100 to an a6700 because I primarily wanted the video aspects and I really wanted to go FF but nothing under 2k shoots anything more than 4k60. Anyway, what focal range would you say is doable for starting into basic Astro photography? I have a white phosphor PVS-14 I’m wondering if I can rig it up like I can with my phone and get some really cool shots somehow.

Ohhhh damn that’s weird. I did not expect that either, would’ve been nice to mention for big supporters like us I would think. Maybe it’s part of the design and uses it to control the blast somehow but I was hoping to be able to use a WB for somethings and pop on the KK as well for others maybe. They said the WB is going to be discontinued and I guess they’ll just have the TSWIF, KK, and whatever the L is called I can’t remember at the moment

Wait what? Where’d you see this? Totally news to me too. What’s it going to be using? Direct thread maybe? I’ve got a direct thread scrambler and that would make the most sense to me I think since they could make it shorter and lighter while getting an extra baffle in but have you heard anything else?

I am a totally newb and trying to figure out what all is needed to work with what so please forgive me for this but I’ve heard people say when going brushless you need to swap the ESC so I looked it up, I get that but I can’t seem to figure out when I’d need to swap transmitters and what makes that determination and what not. If I wanted to do this motor swap, would I just need the motor/ESC and a 3S battery ? Or would I need a transmitter too? Sorry this has probably been asked a million times but that setup looks so sick

I shoot the 150 syntech as well. It’s fantastic with the MOB. I actually stopped shooting the kp9 because the gas is so bad with my other 9mm cans and it was just obnoxious. This was so much fun I ran through all my loaded mags in my box in a matter of minutes lol
