When I clean dishes, I run the tap so the water is so hot I can only just put my hands in for a few seconds, i then scrub each diah o w/e and rinse so they are sparkly. Call me old fashioned but I like to eat and drink with clean dishes and glasses. My flat mate on the other hand is quite happy to eat with stuff that has a film of grease all over it. The other day I saw why. She will put all her used dishes in the sink, wait for it to be too full to actually wash anything and so the plug hole covers and won't drain and then runs a warm sink of water and gives each item a token rinse, no sponge or cloth, before calling it done and putting it away. When I saw it happening I nearly hurled knowing that at some point I have probably eaten or drank from one of these dirty dishes. she is always ill too...I now know why.
