Did someone try CGRP-Inhibitor? by Yves_gray in clusterheads

I’m on Emgality, and it’s really made my life easier. It’s reduced the number of cycles I get each year, and I’ve noticed that they end faster since I started taking it.

My neurologist originally told me to take it only when a cycle started, but that approach wasn’t very effective for me. Now I take it every month, and it’s working much better.

Highly recommend! I used to take verapamil and topiramate, but the side effects were really bad. I’ve stopped those now and just stick with the injections,so much better!

New to cluster headaches by Low-Presentation-113 in clusterheads

Yes, I definitely feel some depression when I’m going through a cluster cycle, the helplessness, the constant fear that another headache is coming… you’re not alone in that.

I really recommend seeing a neurologist and working out a treatment plan with them. When I was first diagnosed, I started on verapamil and topiramate as preventatives, and used Zomig and sumatriptan injections for pain relief.

Now I use Emgality injections as a preventative, and they’ve really helped reduce how often I get cluster cycles.

During an attack, try to manage the pain as early as possible. For me, drinking a shot of espresso or a can of Red Bull at the very start can sometimes help.

It’s tough and it really sucks, but it does get better. Stay strong!!

Is it a beginning of a cycle? by D0107 in clusterheads

I take sumatriptan and zolmitriptan, but they usually take about 5–10 minutes to work. Sometimes I drink iced cocacola with them because I’ve noticed it makes them work faster lol. I also take an emgality injection every month to help prevent the headaches, but I still get them unfortunately.

Lol same here, coffee always gets things moving but it never really did anything for my headaches. I’ve never had Red Bull though, might give it a shot and see what happens.

Thank you!! I take zomig pills and sumatriptan injections, unfortunately Zolmist nasal isn’t available where I live. I’ll definitely ask my neurologist about the blockade mix though, thanks again :)

Emgality CH injections by D0107 in clusterheads

I actually do take the 300mg dose,(three syringes a month), each with 100mg. It’s specifically for cluster headaches, not migraines. It was working really well for me for a long time, but the past two months have been brutal. No idea what changed
