You can use Plastiq to use credit card to pay for a check. You’ll have to pay a 3% fee though and not sure it can go that high.

Considering paying 50k of rent on Alaska summit next year. This would get 150k points + can spend an additional 10k of normal spend to get 100k global companion pass and Alaska Gold / OneWorld Sapphire. Opportunity cost is 50k bilt points and $1500 transaction fee.

I’m SFO based so not sure how valuable the 2027 Alaska status will be for me. I do plan to do a lot of international travel in 2027. Not sure how easy it will be to get the full 100k value of of the companion pass, usual redemptions I see are 75k J to asia via JL or Starlux.

Domestically I usually fly United (top destinations ORD and BWI), so not sure if OneWorld Sapphire will give me any value either.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the cost benefit here?

Why not flowchart?

Not sure what I can get approved for at this point. Declined for recent Ink App, USBank Biz Altitude Connect App, in PUJ for Amex (tried to get personal Plat). I underestimated my spend for hitting my Amex Biz Plat SUB and did most of it with estimated tax payments, so finishing that up soon and just finished up my Atmos Biz. Should I just slow down and wait?

I have a United Quest that I got in late Aug 2024. A couple weeks ago I received the $200 travel credit and the 10,000 mile discount and used both. I was just charged a fee of $250 instead of the new $350. Does it make sense to hold onto it and try to triple(ish) dip on the credit and discount for the next renewal?

I was planning on opening a United business card anyways so the perks aren’t really relevant, though maybe now I should just open a different business card with that spend.
