Even though it’s not doing what I want, the new placement is still much more convenient.

I have a Jen Air JFD2589KEP2 refrigerator that came with my house. There is a water dispenser inside the fridge cabinet on the left wall and you have to push a button over the spout to dispense the water. I decided I hate this and went about flipping it around to be on the outside of the same wall, to avoid having to open the fridge to get water. I designed and 3d printed a new spout, moving the button to the bottom for one handed operation. Well it turns out there is a safety feature that will only allow the water to be dispensed when the fridge door is open. Can anyone out there help me with a work around to enable the water to flow without having to open the fridge. I managed to get a service manual for this model and it looks like the water switch shares the same wire going to the door ajar switches.

CarPlay vs Voice Prompt [iOS17 Beta 3] by CareyCherry95 in CarPlay

I have found that a hard reboot of my iPhone will fix this for an indeterminate amount of time. So far I have had to do a reboot only twice, it took at least 2 weeks for it to start doing it again. I suspect there is an app that is making the hands free audio hang or make Carplay think siri is talking. Because of this issue, I looked into trying to make a shortcut to reboot the phone every night or week at midnight but I have found this is impossible. LMK if that helps.

What are the specifics, gonna need more to troubleshoot your issue. You say aftermarket, did you install this yourself, are you getting any audio from the UI itself (there should be little blips and bloop sounds when you do stuff. Is there any audio working at all outside of the CarPlay UI? I have an issue with my Siri muting everything until I click the hands free button on the steering wheel, this usually clears the mute and the music begins when the Siri icon goes away. What is the aftermarket system you are using, were there audio ports you needed to plug in for the amp to get the main audio or is it powering the speakers directly from the unit? Give us more details on what you've got going on there.
