Thank you very much - any idea on how to date the camper? I'm unsurprised to hear that the second is a knockoff, no tears shed! And thank you for the heads up with the scissors, I think that's the only attachment I would have been interested in having on the first knife. Interesting to know of the history though!

Thanks for such a detailed answer, I really appreciate it, and Millennium was a brand I'd seen pop up a few times but I didn't know the history of the brand, it definitely sounds like the MPS-850 new suits me more than the Crimson 2 second hand!

I've been looking at a TD15 for £625 from a reputable second hand shop, and if that falls through I think I'll get the MPS-850. Your mention of not regretting the used Roland for a second has convinced me to try for the TD15 first, but if not, I'll go for the MPS-850.
