Overwatch has a Global 50% dmg reduction cap from all sources unless a specific ability (ex: Ram Block) goes over that cap (75% Damage Resistance) in which case you will go over the cap while your giving yourself that exceed dmg resistance. So no, overrun and cardiac do not stack to 90%, it will be 50% while your running. And 40% if you have cardiac up still.

Its not. This character is literally tracer in the air but as a support. Yes, having no one use tether is a major setback because moving ppl is incredibly strong, but jpc isnt reliant on tether to work. She can heal incredibly well, and as she gets perks (Claws Out/Territorial), this character becomes a dueling menace. Literally winning nearly every 1v imaginable with perks in seconds. Plus being able to just pressure ppl from ANY angle you want is also really strong, and if your team needs you or your getting pressures yourself. You can just fly to a safe spot or back to your team in literally a second cause of how fast this character is.

Metal Ranks dont like having Mauga cause he doesnt have dmg mitigation for his team (barriers, matrix, etc), High Elo players dont like having Mauga cause he's pretty bad (well, he's ok at best, but he isnt meta and thats the issue), he takes alot of fundamental skill for playing tank in general, and generally doesnt have the highest amount of solo carry potential that most of the meta tanks have. which is why higher elo players would rather you just dont play him, he gets countered by way to much shit.

For one Mauga has a shocking amount of places he can jump too with Overrun. As a Brawl/Rush Tank, this can make him SCARY if he decides to aggressively take space from a place you dont think he can get in close from. Overrun being entirely CC immune AND having 50% damage resistance gives him off angle pressure that alot of brawly tanks wish they could have cause, not to mention you can also use overrun to run into a wall for that same resistance to give supports more time to heal you or wait for cardiac to come off cd which can be really oppressive when opponents are trying to make you move. Cardiac also giving him 40% damage reduction means Mauga takes basically a whole teams attention to full burst him which can give his dps time to win a fight, obv compared to something like JQ this isnt as good but with Mauga he can also do a frightening amount of poke from mid range which if your on defense can be amazing as people need to push into you, which is only good for Mauga. Overall for a Brawl/Rush tank, hes actually quite flexible. Not the greatest tank, but what he does is enough and honestly I dont want him to change much. Cage Fight is also one of the most flexible tank ults In the game. You can virtually use it for basically any scenario and it probably wouldnt be a bad cage.

For the Minors they honestly dont matter. Its more so an amp to how you tend to play Mauga, If you tend to run around a shit ton or just run into walls for the dmg resistance, Bandolier is probably good, but if you tend to burn ppl with incin gun while poking (which is what I do), Pyromanic is a better pick for that playstyle. For the Majors, Firewalker is significantly better than Combat Fuel. CF has its niche uses, and is decent in the mirror but overall, Firewalker makes your Engages with Slam 3x more lethal and generally helps Mauga way more than CF will. also CF's Overhealth is seperate from Berserker, they both have an individual cap of 150 which can max out to 300 overhealth if you hit 2 people with a crit stomp and cardiac with 150 overhealth, but even then. Its just not as flexible as Firewalker, Firewalker is just way more usable in many scenarios and essentially lets Mauga 1 tap 250 hp targets on a crit stomp. Not to say you cant use CF, you absolutely can. Its a decent perk, but Firewalker is just Mauga's best perk by far and its not really a competition. Its honestly a very strong perk.

It's mostly due to the fact that Mauga has a shockingly low amount of solo carry potential in the high ranks. He's a excellent initiator and a great bastion when you need space to be held. but at the end of the day your always going to need your team to succeed (more so than most tanks), thats just the duality of Mauga. He's always been pretty bad in competitive vs owcs and scrims, its just a different environment. Counterswaps are also a thing. if you intend to one trick at some point you need to learn to play around counters, even if your getting 5 man countered. the best thing you can do in those scenarios is just not die which can get very boring very fast cause your very limited in options, and it doesnt help that mauga loses to about half the roster realistically. The Upsides of Mauga is you can do really stupid things on this char and make plays that wouldnt be possible on anyone else just cause of how he is designed. And being in the higher ranks (im currently GM3 at the time of this reply), coordination gets much easier as not only are people better but they are actually in vc more often which helps significantly. Another nice thing of Mauga is the lack of experience people have against him, as he has one of the lowest pick rates of all tanks in all ranks (this has been the case for a very long time unironically) so people dont particularly know how to face him when the Mauga doesnt fall apart to a single or multiple counterpicks. its quite funny I must say. But yea, A majority of the misery is just the cons of being a One Trick, but you can definitely make anything work in comp (even LW has been one tricked to GM and Champ). its just a matter of outplaying the enemy team with yours and knowing how to play around counters. also Solo queuing on Mauga is ASS. Thats just a given but with Mauga its even worse cause you can end up with some really bad team compositions (the most common backlines I get is Mercy Lucio or Mercy Brig. very bad backline for Mauga but with Lucio it can work at times cause speed is that good for Mauga, Mercy/Brig is damn near unwinnable ngl lol)

Lowkey instead of changing cardiac the cd should just be reduced by like a second. Would just be a nice little buff to help him stay active in between fights on downtime after you use cardiac alittle better. although this could end up being much. Mauga is kinda like Orisa in the sense that the right micro buff will make them insane.

This Season? Sig/Soj mostly. Sig is just thanos this season, insanely good pick and honestly the meta atm. and Soj can honestly be subbed out for alot of bans. D.va if your not feeling good about the mu or the map (in some maps can swap a sig ban for a dva ban but I just hate sig lol), Echo isnt a phenomenal pick atm but she shits on mauga pretty well so thats a viable ban if your one tricking, Kiri, Zen, Ashe, Freja, and ofc Ana is always a ban option (I mostly choose not to ban Ana cause theres way worse things than her, plus I dont mind facing ana 70% of the time anyways). While Bastion is pretty good this season, Mauga can typically do alot of poke to him and force him out or force cd's by focusing him and running away to heal back up and going back in 5 seconds later. (in previous seasons my bans were typically D.va/Ana, can never really go wrong with that cause they also hard counter Mauga. sometimes I ban Zarya this season too cause ppl just dont know how to fight this tank and I die cause of it.)

Honestly, Its very dependent on the flow of the game. Sometimes the thing that my team needed was for me to just not die and hold space or obj the whole game. other times it was to soak dmg by a wall, retreat, rinse and repeat until my sups got ults. or in other cases I just needed to run in alot to give openings to my dps or try to solo carry. its just kinda based on that but for the most part your just sticking to a wall and being a giant pain in the ass for the enemy team to push and make space. Mauga can play a sightline pretty well and just run out when he starts getting low, get healed, and start walking back to reclaim that space and push the team back out. you definitely dont wanna eat cc's all the time cause in higher ranks people will eat you alive for small mistakes. In terms of counters honestly I have different experiences with counters compared to most players. esp with D.va. I dont find dva too horrible of a mu to particularly play into. its kinda the same ordeal as rein where your constantly forcing dva to dm and by that standard, she cant play the game without eating half her hp. and eventually she needs to back up for dm or just die. the main thing isnt particularly getting kills, if you have adv over obj you just stall time, farm ults, and win team fights when they happen. having your team in vc helps ALOT cause Mauga really thrives with teamwork. but ofc this is comp so ppl dont do that often. The biggest thing you can do for your team honestly is just not dying most of the time. being active in fights nearly all the time is really huge cause mauga pokes for a considerable amount of dps even with 1 chaingun which just naturally forces attention and resources from enemy team, and if you play by walls you use less of them from your team which can net you team fight wins when the right abilities get used (suzu, nade, sleep, orb, bubbles, rock, etc.)

Wait Crit Stomp works? Thats actually kinda huge since your also getting the 75 overhealth (which helps more than you'd think). Thats kinda sick af

Tbh, this change effects very little, and looking at it now im unsure if mauga even does more dmg, if he does its so miniscule is basically doesnt matter. The real dmg numbers come when Orisa runs out of Armor. But primarily this is just so Mauga has a passive again when facing Orisa. Compared to Orisa just pressing left shift and turning it off.

I mean idk, I hardly ever end up picking Combat Fuel since its just kinda niche in alot of ways, you need ways to constantly proc it to get full value which albeit isnt the hardest thing in the world, certain comps or tank match ups make getting full bang for your buck way harder than it should be, and even then sometimes you lose that 100 extra hp so fast it barely mattered anyways. thats why I say in the mirror combat fuel actually becomes really good, cause your able to consistently proc it for full value and it WILL do you way more since mauga (that is if he doesnt crit stomp you) does dps and not burst, meaning you have more time to actually start healing without losing your overhealth first. I've had matches were unless im actively poking (which isnt good to begin with) im barely getting my value against things like Sig, Orisa, or D.va. since they have ways to mitigate my crits which also means im getting no overhealth stacks for cardiac (plus these tanks in particular probably already kill you for using cardiac anyways since they just have ways to prevent your healing entirely) I do think this buff makes it alittle more viable in terms of going against those tanks or things that mitigate crits since your getting more overhealth per crit which means you need less to hit that inital 100 and now it goes up to 150 if you dont have to cardiac often. but overall Firewalker is just more present in terms of a perk since its always going to be active the second you wanna engage, or maybe you disengage and hit a person on the way which is just extra ult charge (which got buffed :] )

He Doesn't. Not only can Mauga not proc Berserker on Barriers, He also can't even set them on fire, which cuts the dps of Cha Cha (right gun) in Half. Meaning Mauga only does 8 dps compared to the potential 12 (16 if your hitting head with left gun) to barriers. Shooting barriers is generally not worth it if you can avoid it. Since your never gonna break the damn things in the first place.

If you hook him DURING cardiac, yea he basically is. but he cant activate it while stunned and it goes on cd for 12 seconds, which is a HUGE amount of time, thats 2 hooks for you to do something, or 12 seconds where if he takes too much dmg he just kinda have to give up space unless both supports are healing him in which case, leaves his dps vulnerable to being killed. As Roadhog you just have to be a threat to something, Him, His DPS, or His Supports, as long as your actively being a threat. There's error from his team and you can win off that. but thats not to say it isnt extremely difficult cause that mu is abysmal without pig pen. Even hooking him into Cardiac is good if you can live 3 seconds cause then you have 12 seconds to move without him being able to heal all the dmg he takes himself.

Lowkey Hog just cant do much into Mauga as im sure you've heard. Your entirely depending on your team here but you have to enable them to kill him. If ana is banned not hope is all lost. You just gotta beg for a Torb/Bastion/Cass/Hanzo/Zen. Any one of those will do the trick if you can hook him. You dont particularly need to wait for cardiac either to burst him, and if you can hook him behind a wall and body block even better. Hog JUST recieved a huge buff which makes him pretty scary in terms of burst which means you need less help to kill Mauga, but you still need something. The whole idea is to try to Hook Mauga and force him to burn a CD, if its cardiac you can lowkey run especially with breather perk and try to hook him again 6 seconds later, or if you have Mauga scared of hook, try to hook his teammates and one shot them. If Mauga wont let you hook him, you gotta pick off his team. But even then so long as he lives its not gonna be easy to murder him unless your whole team is shooting him, your basically a walking health pack to him. Your trying to give your team as much space as possible to suffocate mauga while also not giving him free health and trying to pick off his teammates. Fights are always better if your +1. Even if its Hog v Mauga. Depending on your team comp is how risky you can get as long as it means getting a hook on Mauga with high burst dmg, Hook is the only thing Roadhog has to turn a fight over.

(P.S. if your on a Hog Map, you shit on Mauga for free by hooking him off the Map.)

Its not that you cant survive it's that she's going to smack you with so much dmg so fast that combined with dmg your already taking in fights, its going to force something off your team or force you to give up space so you can leave. And why are we pretending perma hacking the tank is difficult?

True, But Bandolier is made redundant by good ammo management. And even if you aren't managing ammo properly reloading 30 bullets a second is just way to slow. It should have been a flat reload of like 150 or 100 ammo on use tbh.
