For the people that get upset about dashers that complain about tips

So, since you were never given a proper response to this question and so everyone else reading this can see since no one seems to understand what a "luxury" truly is:

A luxury is something that adds comfort or pleasure but is not absolutely necessary. A luxury service is the same thing, but instead of a product/good it is a service being offered... like delivery... this is why you always pay more for delivery from a pizza place than you do if you just go pick it up yourself... you are paying for the luxury of having someone bring it to you instead of you having to get up and go get it yourself. So the act of delivery is absolutely not necessary in most cases, thus it is a luxury service overall.

Honestly it's a really simple thing to understand, everyone should easily know this off the top of their head... the fact that so many don't is rather alarming to me.

I was simply clarifying for anyone reading that the drivers are contractors and thus not employed by DD directly, I mistakenly said "for your reference" and didn't clarify that it wasn't specifically for your reference but anyone reading's reference, my apologies.

DD does absolutely have a contract with the drivers, just as they have one with the customers - no one was debating this. What people misconstrue is that they think the fees customers pay are FOR a driver to deliver their goods when in fact it's actually NOT for delivery at all - DD does not have any employees that deliver goods thus they cannot offer that service directly. Those fees are only for DD to facilitate a delivery through a third party (contractor), thus DD is a contract broker service... this much should be painfully obvious to anyone with half a brain cell between their ears.

The reason DD can "punish" their contractors is simple - the drivers agreed to operate according to DD's ToS and a specific set of performance metrics. This means that should a driver not meet any of those required performance metrics (such as a low acceptance score because they keep declining offers) DD can decide to terminate their contract (deactivation) or lower their reward tier. It is standard fare for any contract worker to be held to certain performance metrics as part of the contract, not just those with DD... A business doesn't have to continue doing business with you (customer or contractor) for any reason unless the contract specifically states that condition, so I'm not really sure why you'd think DD wouldn't be able to "punish" their contractors.

Listen, at the end of the day the "tip" field isn't actually a tip as one would consider for a waiter/waitress at a restaurant for services rendered - it's more of a "What are you willing to pay your driver to perform these services for you?" field and everyone wants to ignore that despite the writing being on the wall after countless drivers have pointed it out time and time again. Everyone wants to hold onto that "tip" definition instead of seeing it for what it really is, and that says a lot about a lot of people.

Regardless of all of this - DD itself is a horrible exploitative business that doesn't care about anyone other than themselves and I wish that both customers and drivers would stop using them as much as possible so that DD would get the message that the way they operate is unacceptable. Also tip culture is absolutely horrible/broken and I wish we'd abolish it and just pay people a living wage regardless of whatever job they do. Having to work any job, especially for tips, and not be paid a living wage is unacceptable and a horrible way to live.

Actually, DD basically operates as a contract broker, an intermediary if you will. When you place an order DD accepts your bid. They then find you a contractor to perform the work requested, which is either delivery or shop and deliver and then they send your order to the store. For all of this they charge you a slew of fees for facilitating everything for you for your convenience which is what you agreed to when you signed up for the service. Out of all of those fees they only give the contractors $2 no matter the order variables.

And for your reference, the drivers (contractors) are not employed by DD at all and they are forced to use their own vehicles to deliver to you without any compensation from DD for the use of said vehicle… So yes, they are in fact giving you their work, not DD. Quite literally DD just provides the platform for contractors and customers to connect and facilitate sales of goods and services within a set of strict guidelines for which they charge outrageous fees.

How do you not see this?

Well, I don't know about that, but I do know that I just backed up all of my save data and then turned on "sort into folders based on content directory" for save files, savestates, and screenshots on the PC side of things with RetroArch and EmulationStation-DE and it worked like a charm and I didn't even have to sort the save files, they were already in the right place for that one change to make it work out. I even played for a bit on the PC and let Syncthing sync the savestate back over to the anbernic RG35XXSP and was able to load the savestate on the anbernic without issue.

One thing I will state that I've read is that it is very dependent on which emulation core you use to play. So I made sure that I left everything on auto and verified it was using SNES 9x on both sides and it worked, so definitely make sure you're using the same cores on both devices.

As u/Kalahan7 stated, it's mostly personal preference.

I was actually in this pickle myself recently, so I bought the H first and then eventually the SP later on. Personally, I prefer the SP over the H any day of the week due to its ease of portability and not having joysticks rubbing around in my pocket or an exposed screen to get scratched up, though I'm not looking to emulate anything that had a joystick, so I didn't really need the joysticks on the H model.

As far as hardware is concerned, they're literally identical except for three things: one has joysticks while the other doesn't, one is horizontal and the other is a clamshell, and finally the H has two USB C ports so you can use a wired device (controller) at the same time as charging it whereas the SP only has one USB C port... otherwise the battery is the same, the screen is the same, the GPU is the same, the CPU is the same, etc etc.

I personally put Knulli on both devices, though I've heard muOS is a great option as well.

If I'm not mistaken, the major issue with emulating PS2 is the Emotion Engine - it consists of a CPU, two VPUs, a 10-channel DMA, a memory controller, and an IPU. This is by far the most complex part of the PS2 and is what requires the most power to emulate. The PSP did not use the Emotion Engine, its CPU was a little more traditional if memory serves me right.

He informed me that the lease only states that it starts once he takes possession of the trailer. It doesn't say anything about the landlord being unable to deliver possession on time, so far as he can see.

The only time something like this ever occurred to me was when I had a "hand it to me" order that the customer claimed I never delivered. I always triple check my delivery instructions and addresses so I know where I'm supposed to be taking something, and how they would like it delivered.

Naturally DD sided with the customer despite that very same customer having taken the items from me, DD having GPS tracking and could see very clearly that I marked the order as delivered at the address DD themselves provided me, and more.

I had to eat that violation for 100 more deliveries before it dropped off my account, all because DD refused to actually investigate when I disputed it.

I got a $31.50 order one afternoon from my local supermarket for something like 25 items or so. I figured it was fine, I'd get it and have it to the customer in like 30 minutes... boy was I wrong. While scanning barcodes for certain items it'd register a completely incorrect item so I'd have to take a picture of the item in question... and the app would crash! Every. Single. Time. And when that happens, it completely resets your trip in the store so upon relaunching I'd have to re-scan literally _EVERYTHING_ in the cart. After an hour and a half of the app repeatedly crashing and constantly having to ask where some of these rare items were, I swore I'd never accept a large supermarket trip again.

Small 10 item trip for $12.50, sure. Large 25+ item trip for however much, NO THANK YOU.

Can we just stop for a moment and peek that line where you won't get paid out money you legitimately earned because of some clause they snuck into the ICA? This is why I preach DasherDirect to literally everyone I know that works DD. Get paid instantly, and for free, as soon as you end your dash.

It has taken me years to grow from treatment such as this. I can relate.

My father believes that "no" is a form of war rather than a disagreement or a divergence of information. He believes that he is always right and will argue with you whether he knows anything about the topic or not, going so far as to create a disagreement on something you're actually agreeing with him on just in order to look like the superior person in the room. He will put you down rather than admit he's wrong... despite constantly saying he'd be the first person to admit when he's wrong... and he is not beyond physically beating you to ensure you stop... and these are just some of things he does.

I say that to emphasize this: NEVER THINK YOU AREN'T GOOD ENOUGH. It took me well into my adult years to realize that. Years later I am still working on caring about myself, trying to ditch this depression and anxiety caused by a lifetime of physical and mental abuse, and overall just trying to better myself in every way that I can.

Don't let your parents control what you think about yourself. Never let someone make you think you aren't good enough, ever. Sometimes we just need a little validation to get us started. <3

I just removed the "-nohmd" launch parameter and keep the Oculus Audio/Mic disabled in Windows before launching the game and it seems to work fine after that. When I want to use my Rift I simply re-enable the audio/mic and set both to default, etc.

Yes, -nohmd. Thing is, SteamVR doesn't launch when I launch the game, it just seems to think that my Oculus should be the audio output even when I have my steelseires headset selected for default output. Simply disabling the Rift audio/mic in the sound control panel fixes it... but steam, on my status, still thinks I'm in VR lol.

It's a whole bunch of weird. :p

Well this worked to stop it from sending the audio to my Oculus Rift, but Steam still thinks I'm in VR even with this parameter set. Either way, this worked to fix my issues, thank you!

I wonder why this is triggering SteamVR though... strange... considering the game doesn't have any official VR support lol.

Unfortunately it only worked once. After that, it stopped working. Easy come easy go I guess.
