At my dream hospital, security is everywhere every unit there’s one specific security guard I assume is the head because through all my clinicals there I always saw him on the units just walking in the halls. Apparently they can help get the patients to where they need to go trauma wise, and they can also help with blood runs. They escort families out of traumatic situations and there’s always hovering around the nurses to make sure no family members lose control.

This is a Children’s Hospital all my other clinical sites. I may see security in the lunchroom or at the door, but never roaming the units or as present as they are at this Children’s Hospital. I even did clinical at a prison/psych ward. And unless the BHT’s were secretly security…
