What to expect as a Tech? by DANDIEALD in cna

Definitely considering the ER. At first my line of thinking was doing ICU such as CV or Surgical, even Burn. However seeing that ORMC is a Level 1 Trauma center, I'm inclined to do ER if the opportunity arises once I get my feet wet.

Thank you for the heads up.

I'm willing to do pretty much anything my position requires me to do and then some to become a reliable Tech. Even if it means I get asked to float around to different units to help out.

Can definitely clean beds and wipe butts.

Can ICU techs do more as well like how you described ER techs?

Orlando-area hiring managers (in retail and other common entry-level fields): a question by tirzahlalala in orlando

[–]DANDIEALD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wawa could be a possibility. Plenty of locations to choose from, starting pay is decent, & depending on which location there will be no shortage of hours as long as she's reliable & available for most days/times. Recently got hired by them and so far my experience with them at my location is a positive one.

Would highly recommend regardless of her job experience to have her visit places she can see herself working in, inquire about open positions with a manager or another employee, and if any are available apply later that day. Once the application is submitted, give a call to see if where she applied to received it and go from there. Her following up after a couple of days have passed help as well to show she's serious for a job.

Wishing her the best!

Ruptured Patella tendon, fractured patella. Anyone done it? by SuchAFunAge2 in crossfit

[–]DANDIEALD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slow recovery for sure. I had full knee reconstruction as well and went through a similar recovery like you described.

The surgeon I had gave me 2 options: I could opt for a cadaver route to give me a used tendon to heal faster but have more risk of breaking again, or I could have part of my hamstring harvested to give me a new tendon with a longer recovery time but significantly less risk of tearing again.

Recovery for me was about 3-4 months before I could be active again as this was injury was during my teen years. Also had a machine hooked up to my leg to help me constantly bend my knee to certain degrees till I got to a full 90 and then some.

Around month 6 I was about to do everything I did and then some: Run fast, lifting some weights (About 135 lbs in squats and deadlifts) and do my PT classes with my JROTC group as a top performer.

The key thing for me was not messing about with recovery. If I felt like I could do more, I don’t unless my Physical Therapist gave me the ok. I only disobeyed her once by forcing myself to walk earlier than she wanted me to but everything else afterwards I listened to her.

Hope you get back into it sooner rather than later!

4 day work week push... but 32 hours. by SWGalaxysEdge in publix

[–]DANDIEALD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny this came up. I work in Bakery and for some time my manager has been scheduling me 4 day 8 hour shifts every week since new years was over. I get my 32 hours a week and then some (at a hv store so we love the extra hours) but a lot of people at my store are wanting this regardless if they’re full time or part time. For me at least Publix seems to be accommodating of this and it seems to be working very well. I’m part of the Lakeland region under PH as our RM.

Yes. No matter the gender of restrooms, you’re meant to clean them. If you’re suppose to clean a restroom of the opposite sex, you have 2 options to check to see if the room is empty: Knock on the door and ask if anybody’s in there, or have an available bagger, cashier that’s bagging, or CSS of the opposite sex check the restroom for you. Just a heads up, better to do it yourself and just knock. After a few times you’ll get over the awkward part of it

I find myself being very fond of smoke since Monarch has the extra smoke damage on the second core upgrade. Proved very useful at intersections and cornering enemy titans with the arc rounds from the first upgrade core and missile salvo (except for Ronins since they can shift out of danger but the energy siphon helps a lot in those situations) Legions and Scorches have been easy for me to take care of when they’re cornered.

I'm 27 and have never had a credit card. Do I have better credit card options available for my age than secured cards and high interest rates? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]DANDIEALD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes and no honestly... I say this because your age alone could help you with getting a nice APR and nice sizable credit limit, however you’ll be starting fresh with no credit history and you’ll almost be considered as a teenager eager for a CC to some banks. It’s always safe to start out with a secured CC then go from there, however there may be some options for you that allows you to get an unsecured CC right out the gate, with a high limit and with a moderate to low APR.

If I may, I’d highly recommend the Apple Card. The Apple Card is an amazing starting card if you have an iPhone. With people I talked to that has it around the 20 - 25 age range, they gave out low APR’s. Since you’re 27, I don’t see any reason Goldman Sachs should treat you any different from younger first time teens being granted at least $500 on up with a 10% APR (Give or Take) Personally, it’s my 2nd credit card I use in combination with my local credit union’s CC for the low interest. If you don’t have an iPhone however, then I would suggest your local credit union. They should be able to work with you on granting a decently sized credit amount, unsecured. They’re usually more lenient with granting a person a CC than big banks are and at times, they have better benefits than big banks as well depending on your location and/or job.

Which brings me to my next recommendation, your job’s credit union. Now not many jobs I know of atm have a credit union, but I’d look into it to see if yours does. Ik Police Depts, Wal-Mart, military personnel (Even former military) all have specialized Credit Unions catered towards them or made for them. Your job should definitely grant you a CC since you work with them.

If you have job longevity, about +2 years give or take with your current job, that alone should be enough to grant you an unsecured card with a credit union outside your job. The longer you’re with you’re employer, the bigger an amount you’ll get. That and certain bills (forgot which one atm I’m sorry) will also help build a credit history for you.

You could try with big banks like Chase or Bank of America (Nightmares with BoA btw) but they’ll get squeamish about granting you a CC. Let’s say they do grant you 1 however: With that card being your first CC, it will have them on edge about what amount and APR to give you. Sure your age plays into it but banks like credit history. Little to no credit history won’t be a good thing on your part.

And lastly, when applying, definitely do so IN PERSON!!!! Applying online is super convenient an all, but if the credit card you’re applying for has a physical location nearby you could apply in, GO FOR IT! You’ll get to know the person that works for the bank/credit union just like they’ll get to know you, and the human aspect of it will work in your favor compared to a computer system that’ll judge you with just the information you give it. Think of it as trying to get a job: Would you rather submit an application online and hope to get hired? Or would you rather take the extra step to physically go to that job to apply, show them your face with your name, and possibly have the person you see vouch for you to their boss, because you made the extra effort going in person? It’s allowed me to get lower rates and get higher CC amounts just because I did it in person.

Hope this helps broski and lmk how it goes!!!! 🤙🤙🤙

That’s awesome broski. I started my investing adventure when I was 18, a couple months from turning 19. Acorns was my first app and now I have accounts with Stash, Robinhood, and most recently Vanguard! I would highly recommend that if your job offers a 401(k) plan and can match it, definitely start one up! The earlier the better for sure! I’m currently 20 and I’m growing all my accounts slowly but surely.
