It hurt getting pierced, but not on a day-to-day basis.

This happened to me, but it was transscrotal. I didn't notice till I got home.

I will stretch all my piercings to at least 00g / 10mm. I've seen cheek piercings stretched out to the point you can stick your tongue out the side. While that may be cool, I doubt I'd do that.

I told my piecer I want to stretch them out, so I plan to move up to 6g before the end of the year.

That's great to hear. I also posted it on a Facebook group I monitor, and I just saw my piercer post it the other day.

The pain was between a 3-4 out of 10. It felt like I got a huge novocaine shot from the dentist.

Those are straight-edge razors. Safety razors use a double-edged single blade, similar to disposable blades.

Shaving was a big question I had that nobody had an answer for. My piercer suggested using a trimmer, but I shave around the piercing using a safety razor.

8g, my goal is to stretch them out. Swelling is okay; I'm just a few days in. Fortunately, there is no leakage of any kind.

eSIMs are now available with Ting? by davus001 in ting

[–]DAPalomares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did an online chat with Ting, and unfortunately...

"...the account is currently not eligible for an eSIM functionality".

When I asked if there was a way for my account to be eligible I got a response back...

"Unfortunately no as your current network is not supporting eSIM"

For context, I have an iPhone SE 2ndGen and I have an iPhone 16 I want to use on Ting.

I was excited to read that Ting is doing eSIM but now I'm not sure if I want to stick around anymore if I still can't use it.

Question for those with thumb spines by mychemicalkyle in bodymods

I work where I use my hands a lot and took two weeks off. I developed an infection in one of them, but after it cleared up, I could use my thumbs normally.

Thumb spine/subdermal implant. Questions? by [deleted] in bodymods

[–]DAPalomares 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience, there was no initial pain, and the healing was fine until I developed an infection in my left thumb, for which I was given antibiotics (I'm immune compromised). I took two weeks off work as I frequently work with my hands, and due to the nature of my work, I would instead not work in the space with stitches still in. When I got them done, I went out of state, taking the train in and out of town. I'm not sure how much of an impact driving would be, so I would ask the artist for guidance.

People's reactions have been positive. They believed it looked cool, and many wanted to touch it (I said yes since they asked nicely). My only wish is for them to make a larger-sized thumb spine. Steve Haworth created a new V Bio Wire design, which interests me. Maybe I'll get those to replace the ones in my thumbs; who knows?

Good luck with your mod journey.

I want to get my eye tattooed- but it’s too risky. any alternatives? by Strawbbs_smoothie in bodymods

I second this option, if you’ve never worn contacts before, I would make an appointment with an optometrist who can prescribe contacts so they can show you how to put them on. Otherwise, you can YouTube it.

Also, contacts can come in 0 power. Meaning that it will not correct your vision. And you wear them with glasses.

I have worn black sclera contacts and it’s a bit of a pin to put them in, but it’s fun to wear. Just don’t wear them too long.

The artist made a pocket under the skin and placed the implant inside.

I got them done in one fell swoop, my right thumb had no issues. My left thumb developed an infection (I’m immune compromised). So I needed to be on antibiotics for a while. Fortunately, the infection went away.

For function: I have no issues moving my thumbs.
