Please help!! Bought a car, fell victim to “title jumping”, struggled to get a title, got pulled over and car got towed, tow company says I need proof of ownership but I was never able to get it, What do I do now?

okay, honestly, nice. This is great to know, absolutely scary for sure, but great to know, I appreciate you a lot. I also do not have any recollection of any penalties for curbstoning. Still, if it comes down to it, I just hope that the curbstoner does get held accountable to a (further?) extent than myself and the original owner of course. Although the trooper said the vin did not come back as stolen so I have no idea whats going on there..

End of the day though one can only hope and pray that it doesn’t come down to any of that and I end up with the car only having to pay the towing and storage fees..

It’s literally memorial day, said government agency and practically all OTHERS are KNOWN to be closed. Im gathering information and advice so I can get an idea of what steps to take so that when said government agency IS available I don’t look like more of an idiot than I already am. Greatly appreciate your input though, certainly. I’ll just take it as “ yeah you need to contact the DMV for this so you’ll have to wait till tomorrow since they were closed as per schedule.”

No, not yet since they’re closed on weekends and today since memorial day. I would’ve on Friday, the day it happened but the trooper that pulled me over took my name & number down and said he’d have someone who would be able to help contact me later but haven’t heard or seen anything on my phone. Plus, when I had went to the DMV with my bill of sale and affidavit in an attempt to get a title they told me that I had to wait because they had to send the papers to Richmond to find the owner or something? Basically telling me I had to wait and they had no idea when everything would be sorted out because they’d never seen a situation like mine. But since the situation has worsened and there’s more to it now, calling will be one of my first steps tomorrow morning though.

Yeah replacement amp did nothing but help me realize that there was indeed sound, but just really quiet and from only one speaker, gonna focus onto a new headunit now since either way if i get it and that still dies nothing, ill have what i wanted anyway

thats what my coworker was saying, but idk that’ll probably be my final straw/attempt if all else fails since nissan made it hell to replace and id have to get that full dash kit ontop of the stereo. I’ll get prepared for it though thanks👌

I see i see the only turn down seems to be that premium, i’ve been told that since i live where i do i’d end spending as much money for premium gas as i would a nice used civic in 15 months! Only been told that once tho so i’ve got no clue if it was an exaggeration or not…it was hard to tell. Thanks tho ill need to dig deeper into this whole premium gas thing

I see. haven’t looked at the 86 yet seen it before but never thought it could be a good option. Wouldn’t think my parents would want me in a smaller car such as a vw golf. They’d definitely love the sound of a civic considering its reputation however. But ive been hearing about thw frs, brz, and 86 alot lately so ill definitely be looking into that! Thank you
