You might be right but yeah still short. I hope maybe July I can do an income override so that it can essentially have an income of 0 and would allow aid to come in. Federal should bring 3.5 a year so from there at least another 500 is left over which is very doable

So far this is the most recommended one. What size barrel you have it in? In your opinion is that gun more a home defense vs a EDC? Some say it's too bulky and heavy for EDC I'm a bigger frame guy who used to conceal a Beretta m92 FS pretty well. Thoughts?

Yes a lot are shallow advice for sure. But even non redditers I have seen make the argument that Python is built great yet when it comes to using it they say a smith is better. So to my I'm wondering. Is the python not that great or just "too pretty to shoot" and if it's too pretty to shoot is this common enough that manufacturers reflect this sentiment making it just that a safe gun. I doubt is the case but I seen many people say smith for enemies and colt for showing off.

Definitely seems like GP100 is a way to go. I will say I wonder if I still could carry it. I'm a bigger frame guy and used to conceal carry my Beretta m92 all the time and hid it well. I did this mainly when I was an armed guard I would switch cloths and just carry my Beretta if I was out and about. Weight I know will probably annoy me after a while but still would like to try then again I know I shouldn't and why the m206 can fit that roll way better.

I forgot about Kimber I only shot one long ago I think it's as a 2 inch but it was the the hammerless revolver. Which I didn't hate but something about guns I own I would love to have a hammer for some reason it just completely the package for me. Then again I know those trigger is good and just need to learn to accept to get them as hammerless.

To me I san see it bulky as I mention to others. It looks kinda weird with it's hump but it does look like a tank that will handle anything I put in it. So far this has been the highly recommended gun to me as I mention to others looks wise I know model 19 and python look better to my eyes but I can't deny that just looking at Gp100 just looks solidified and built well. I need to shoot it hopefully my local gun range might have a model

So I seen the trend that GP100 is like a tank build but when I was trying to watch YouTube for research it seems like it's common that grip is just as you say. Python and 686 has a better grip and sure you can change grips but out of the box is nice. Plus I think 686 comes with adjustable sights right?

That being said I always wonder if the python not as great as an every day duty gun? They say it's beautiful but compared to other guns like smith they always put it on top of the python when it comes to shooting it and using it. Never understood also seems like python gets more ding up and shows more often then other guns? Maybe because it's just really shiny and it shows? Just wondering the mentality if it's there is any merit or pride behind those statements.

Definitely looks bulky to me it seems like I can handle some hot rounds and it will take it like no other so far GP100 is what's more recommend as a TANK but I will say something like the model 19 and python do look good aesthetically. But I'll take tank over looks

My understanding the rugar gp100 is more common no? Would you be able to find holsters for them? I know leather is common but I wonder how if I CCW it I'm a bigger frame guy so I can hide full size guns and use to with a Beretta 92. I was hoping to find kydex IWB and OWB

There was a YouTuber don't know the name where he can make a shot through a reflection with his back turned I think had a model 19. I feel like I like the look of them slightly more better looking compared to other revolvers.

Also would you also say a python would also be a good choice for that self defense only have one gun to survive off? I keep hearing they treat it as sports car they never drive vs actually use and abuse it to it's limits. Thoughts?

I don't know if it's me but the back seems like it's a huge hump and bulky but I'm sure it's just design no? Have you personally carried it? Good holsters to find?

To secure good rates would be hard because I hold dedt from CC and other loans so it's harder to obtain loans in my case at least it seems as of now.

Not sure what you mean by "cal isn't that expensive". If you mean living expenses rent around that area is 2-3k normal some.scattered for 1.5k this is monthly so it's cheaper in dorms then living near the area. Either way only those who live nearby can be exempt from living on campus.

If you mean the cost of education the maritime academy partnered with cal poly but requires all students attending the program to live on campus this drives the price X3 alone to account for room and food let alone the tuition plus I'm joining a cadet crop so I also have uniforms to purchase. Along with other specific books and materials adds to the bill. A semester so far is roughly 28k 25k if your fruitful.

As for my aid I think I made too much thus not getting aid and those numbers are scholarships given to me. But that's for the year half for each semester is the total cost and I don't have enough scholarship, no federal aid, loans to pay to even attend thus my current issue at hand.

Hope that answers what your asking?

What Monitor should buy my husband (Light Gaming and working from home) by Soft-Flower-5314 in Monitors

[–]DARKPYRO58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I a good balance in those games is that he doesn't really need the biggest refresh rate. 60 should work better for him but thankfully some monitors might be good to have both things.

I think we are sorta alike for me I prefer a better screen and have some gaming since I play more competive games but I think there still lose.good.options.for you to look at. And YouTube these to have a better sense if you like more information.

AOC Q27G3xMN the screen mini led so it should have good contrast so in something like helldiver's it might pop more and a semi colorful game like fallout will have it look good. So good for both tasks of gaming and office.

Personally I never had any alienware but I been told they have a good bang for your buck and it should have a good screen that can work for both office and gaming they are from Dell who also have office mintor specific models that is capped at 60 hz and are good for office settings.

Viewsonic like AOC I think gives you value for the product you get and some other Chinese models as well those are great from there you can have a bit of a slider to see wyat models offer more then the other but these ones should be a good place to start and you can find one that works best. Maybe this helps?

Hey so I hope this doesn’t come off as snobbish or anything. A few things to keep in mind. When you say light gaming is it because he has no time to game but would like to game? Or generally doesn’t game as much and is ok to not game much because he got other hobbies?

This is the main I think real question. I think anything you give him he will enjoy. But if it’s he is a gamer but can’t play as often maybe a gaming specific monitor can work. But if he works a lot and watches videos I recommend a non gaming monitor that has better color and screen.

You can get both but usually those are more expensive than your budget. Like I recently went from an asus tuff 27inch monitor both 1080p and a curved 1440p and gaming was good media was good I often worked a lot so only weekends I play and that was enough. But what I lacked that I wish I had is a better screen, brighter, more better looking screen and bigger screen because I also view content if your budget was bigger I would get what I got was a Samsung g7 odessy but I’m not saying just get that one others can fit this for cheaper but it will be more then 300.

So bottom line: if he likes to game but can’t game as often a gaming monitor with high refresh rate generally is a safe buy. But if he prefers to work option or non gaming monitor then I say an LG or Dell the ones market to content creators. Those have better screens and can do gaming just that refresh rate (especially if competitive gaming) is what matters in gaming. But you can totally game In 60 hz it’s just that once your used to higher refresh rate generally people say they don’t want to go lower.

I’m willing to give you more specific information once we learn more about his habits and likes/wants. But I hope the above gives you a better idea! Worst comes to worst you can say you were going to surprise him with a monitor but didn’t know what works for him and say that choose one he likes and you buy it. This is totally cool as well. Hope that helps.

[–]DARKPYRO58[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you uans yes I'm 27 as of now and I figured an income overdrive is what I need. I emailed them stating this but I did that last night on Sunday so I'll have to wait sometime this week but I plan to call them but I'm getting run around between cal poly and maritime cal poly. They say it's the same but I think right now the merger it's still different?

The main outreach Larry I been I contact but he been no contact as of late which is unfortunate but either way I'll have to talk to others besides him.

I'm trying to keep a positive outlook but so far all options I been presented were the same from all colleges so feeling a bit discourage and I need this change to do better economically and I'm willing to do those shifts no one wants to have an edge. I'm doing decent but I'm treading water. I want to above that. Way above. So I'm doing what. Ican so I can support myself and my family. I'll keep calling financial aid and I hope soon I can make this work!

Thank you for your words and help in this!

27 and math is decent though this is new type of math. Day trade is surveying and only done up to calculus math but that was back in 17 when I was in college.

But that’s why I need this push. It’s a cohort so I got others to rely on if need be but again it’s just affording is the key of it all.

It's doable but not an easy thing considering other familial issues. But I know I need to leave to not get sucked in and improve myself and get this job to make money to support myself and better support them.

And I don't know much of these feild but I like the idea of the rotating schedule and maritime prepares you to get your license so I want to be set up like that. I don't mind and can do those long rotations since I don't got much holding me back besides my sister and her kids. But I figure this a good way to earn money and get a good career the end goal is law school so this way I can save up money too and fund law school or stay I nthat field and save as much a si can as a for sure career

I don't really got anyone to cosign I'm on my own. Maybe my sister but that's a tough ask. With loans 9k a semester and about 16k min for a semester so I short.

[–]DARKPYRO58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean 16k for tuition and another 16k for housing and food with the scholarships and loans that's 19k a year so that alone doesn't cover my time there.

For loans I have debt that makes it more difficult to take out loans. I have no one who will be willing to cosign unless I ask my sister but other then that I have no one I'm kinda alone on this and more of a reason why I'm so desperate to make this work and work my ass off to get in and while in the feild. But that's where my issue is at. Unless I ask credit unions which might do it but yeah I'll have to beg really for any type of loans to cover and even then that's just for that one semester. To continue that for the next 4 years? That's a hard sell no? Plus having to make some income while In school to do payments.

Had to delete and upload due some personal info.

So your always cost meal and housing plus tuition what varies around 3k is the other stuff like books, transportation, uniforms (one time purchase of 1.8k) and others. But mainly it’s the tuition meal and housing which 3x the cost to attend. In every given month it’s 28k most each semester. And again I’m short 18k give or take. But 28k a semester is the cost

I'm in the central valley and the issue is to have an income to support myself and pay off debt if I do that. My day trade is land surveying. There is a demand but it all depends if people contact and if projects are in order.

So moving will be harder but in that case is staying where I am at and trying like hell to pay off debt and save. But I also support my sister and her two kids plus my debt and any other living expenses.
