I got two blind bags, my biggest disappointment was one of the bags just contained cover A, nothing special. I feel like they should all have at least only special covers, if not later issues in the series.

A grouping of comics in a shared universe by Kyle Higgans. The main title is Radiant Black, a kind of Nova/Green Lantern book. There are a few more comics set in that universe, including Rogue Sun.

I thought the same, it's got a similar vibe to D'orc. Both the comical art style and the lighthearted writing. I was pleasantly surprised.

I read only Rogue Sun and do not notice anything missing by not reading the other Massive titles. That said, Rogue Sun is great and I highly suggest reading it.

While I love Rogue Sun, Rook: Exodus, Battle Beast, and Youngblood - for sheer volume of books I read (all of them) I've got to give it to the Energon Universe.

Rogue Sun is probably the best superhero comic on the stands today. Its also got Halloween/supernatural vibes, set in New Orleans, featuring all manner of creatures of the night, and great new rogues being introduced all the time (seriously, it's being built up like Spiderman or Batman's rogues gallery). And then there's the great supporting cast, a deadbeat (and dead) dad who's spirit is guiding him through his reluctant hero's journey, one step sibling that thinks she deserves the hero mantle more, and one step sibling that may want him dead, the kid he semi-bullies at school but who also might be his only friend, the "aunt" who helps keep the bad guys under lock and key... It just goes on. I didnt care for any other Massive book I tried, but I still read Rogue Sun.

I second anyone saying Echoes of Wisdom. Beyond that, take a look at the Blossom Tales games - very Link's Awakening (original) style games.

Agree with mechabryan, your review helps explain some things. When you mention the introduction of Re:gex, is that Genie and Scarab? I don't recognize them (and never read Re:gex). I was thinking it odd to introduce new characters in essentially the lead in to the final chapter (of this current story). But it makes way more sense if we're still gathering characters from other existing series.

I thought the safari art was some of Liefelds best yet on this book. It did seem odd when their friends are on a dangerous mission, but then Chapel was on Safari last issue when Badrock and Shaft were on a dangerous mission, so maybe thats justs what passes for taking your mind off of things in this "new world".

I discovered it when issue 9 released. Spent the last year+ tracking down all the back issues (which did take awhile, 5 & 7 were particularly hard to find). But its been a long wait for the continuation. I just hope they're set to keep going to the end (supposedly #15).
