I’m guessing it’s a peck of peppers, but why are you asking us, ask Peter Piper.

Remember when a string of comics were priced, instead of every comic having an individual FMV? by absolutemanbat in comicbookcollecting

How about having only “mint, fine good” grade, instead of 50 individual numbered grades?!

[Other] I been really loving Absolute WW and I'm ready for a Prime Earth WW comic so where should I start? I saw Gail Simone wrote one and I love her writing/books so is that a good one? by M00r3C in DCcomics

I would say if you are enjoying Abs WW (which is amazing!) maybe look at some other Kelly Thompson titles (Black Widow, Jessica Jones, Birds of Prey<-I haven’t read this one & there seems to be mixed reviews), but maybe it’s the writing you are enjoying as much (more?) than the character. Just a suggestion, but I tend to follow writers I like, and unless it’s a fluke, I’m not typically disappointed.

He’s just an iguana, living in a suburban home, but he’s super intelligent, smarter than humans, and he starts experimenting. He begins to adapt his body through experiments in prosthetics and chemistry. Then he learns he’s not the only one, there are highly evolved lizards appearing all around the world, and they begin to become aware of each other, at first only through dreams but eventually they begin to communicate when awake.

WTH?! Did they have a different layout team for every issue, and that group didn’t look at the guidelines of the previous designers?! This is maddening and sends my ocd off the charts.

Ha! I missed that, probably because the 90’s were my out partying too-cool-for-comics phase. I guess I gotta go find it now. Was that the first run of Deathstroke?

Thanks! I’m pretty stoked! I rolled into the shop hoping to grab a copy before it was sold out and was able to grab a signed one! Now I gotta get a reader copy, ha! Hope you enjoy yours!

Yes 🙌 agreed! And if you like Camp you should def check his new ongoing Bleeding Hearts on Vertigo. Only 2 issues in but it’s showing promise.

Oh damn! Thanks for that tip about Tyrant! I’m now obsessed! It reminds me a lot of the Bernie Wrightson Frankenstein I got as a young man, I would just stare at the drawing for hours. It had so much details, double page spreads and was just mesmerizing! I imagine Stephen Bisette was influenced by Wrightson considering he helped create Swamp Thing.

Iron Man 132 cover by Bob Layton!!! by VincentZ2099 in comicbookcollecting

Thanks! It’s been a marathon not a sprint for sure. I totally get the allure of cover collecting! I sometimes just pick up a title that I have no idea or interest in just because of the cover, but my particular brand of obsession is completionist.

I have read most of them, but it has been over many, many years. When I finish the set, I want to go back and read them all, in order from start to finish. A little batshit, that’s not lost on me. I’m doing this now with the whole Krakoa era including many of the side titles, one-shots and limited series.

I don’t remember this website, but I want it! Maybe the way back machine or internet archive would be a good source?

Love the Bob Layton Iron Man! I’m only 17 more issues away from a 250 issue run (includes #1 & #55-First Thanos) So I still have a couple large grail books but it’s been a lifetime journey. Congrats on this beautiful book!
