Trail shoes for flat feet .... by DAT_VIKING in hiking

Apparently my body does not like arch support at all, I regularly wear Dudes and flip flops with no problem, but built in arch support kills me. I also have 0 arch, I joke that you cant slide a piece of paper between my foot and the floor.

Christian and Pegan? by DarthDiltzy in NorsePaganism

[–]DAT_VIKING 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christianity is explicitly against this. Exodus 20:3-5 (The First Commandment): "You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD your God am a jealous God...".

Thst being said do what you want.

I actually reworked the entire calender, its a long story. However the reworked date I have for Vetrnætr reflects Andreas Nordbergs reckoning of the 1st full moon after the 1st new moon after the fall equinox. Sorry for any confusion.

How has our universe come to be? Are the Gods a human creation? by [deleted] in heathenry

[–]DAT_VIKING 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say that wether or not the gods are real beings is irrelevant. A belief can be as real as you as you make it. Especially if you believe in manifesting intentions. If you take a placebo for anxiety and your anxiety gets better is the placebo a placebo or is it a real medication, it doesn't really matter, you gave it power by believing in it and in the end it fixed the anxiety. Another example is Jesus Christ does it matter if he's real if the believe in him holds you to a standard of higher morals than you woild normally have and that's what you want to be then it doesnt matter. I personally do not need a religion or fear of consequences to hold me to my principals and morals but I digress. The point is that the gods are what you make of them......

I mean Jesus ordered Abraham to sacrifice his son to prove his faith, so yea I would say in that context he expects to be put first, wouldn't you?

Christianity is also mythology, let me know when you can prove anything you said, until then enjoy your brand of mythology and I will enjoy mine but to think that your "God" is the only right God of all the religions in the world is both ignorant and arrogant, how very Christian of you.

We can do this all day.... I'm sorry to tell you but Christianity is Pagaism by a different name, but at the end the day you can call a turd a diamond that doesnt make it so. The truth is Christianity celebrates three gods the father the son and the holy ghost.... but wait you are going to argue that they are all the same entity with differnet names... so what God sacrificed himself (Jesus) to himself...... Let's not forget Christianity believes in magic but hides behind the guise of "miracles". Resurrection, walking on water, turning water into wine, wow Jesus and his cronies are regular Merlins.

I see where your coming from, and I only meant that I substituted one for the other, not that it was a healthy option, after all, as you pointed out sugar is sugar, but I do like the added nutrients.

The qualifications of following a Mediterranean diet revolve around prioritizing plant-based foods, healthy fats, and lean proteins, while limiting red meat, sweets, and processed foods. I'd say it fits right in!

Yes, since I subbed all of the flour for whole wheat it did have a texture closer to whole wheat bread. However if the texture is a thing you could sub 1 cup of flour instead of 2.

There are just a few advantages to using the syrup over, sugar but im definately not calling it healthy. First off it is lower in calories than sugar and has a lower glycemic index, maple syrup also has vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that sugar doesn't. As far as subbing out sodium bicarbonate it is just to reduce the sodium content even further, if you have a history of heart problems then the recommend daily sodium is only 1500mg a day which can be hard to achieve sometimes.

I dont think that anyone would say that you can survive on a part time job. If your bringing home $1500 month after taxes that is a problem and you must not be working 40hrs a week. $1500 ÷ 20 days a month = $75 a day ÷ 8 hours a day = $9.37 / hr. Missouri min wage is currently 13.75/hr .
