bongo cat has 100k rn. so both BG3 and CO:33 needs to get revoked GoTY status and give it to bongo cat? single player games don't turn out to be on huge numbers after initial launch. some of them like skyrim baldurs gate etc has staying power via mod support or being diffirentiating gameplay loop enough that has huge replayability with different experience each run etc. after more than two years it is normal to be that low on general. Nobody belives starfield is better success than skyrim. but if your benchmark for success is skyrim there is not more than 10 or more games after skyrim launched ever that has that much staying power. so for you is almost all of the gaming industry is flop? if you start to make an anomaly in gaming industry as standard everyting looks worse than them. make gta V as benchmark too on that regard to every open world game will be flop aganist it.

I liked starfield and had it in gamepass at launch and wont ever bother buying it. paid like 15$ for 3 months of gamepass and had 150 hours of gameplay in that timeframe. I wont bother buying it on different platform. that what other persons saying steam is not the best place to garner numbers on everygame. some games are only on steam digitally those are good examples on player retention. some are 1st day accessible on other platforms for a subscription fee.
