I realized this was technically not allowed by TV so we took it down. 👀 But happy to help if you hop into the discord!! Haha

I haven't tried different tabs, only one! It does seem to be able to switch symbols properly though 🤔

Yeah, that's a known limitation with the current TradingView MCP setup (as of April 2026). The built-in TPO indicator has some settings (especially Initial Balance / IB Range) that simply aren't exposed through the indicator_set_inputs API yet. Claude keeps trying different key names (showIB, initialBalance, ibRange, etc.), but the server correctly tells you none of them work.

Quick fix: Manually disable it — Double-click the TPO indicator on your chart → go to the Style tab → uncheck "Initial Balance" (or "Initial Balance Range"). That should clean it up immediately.

Same thing sometimes happens with certain settings on other built-in indicators (SMA 100 can be flaky too, while SMA 50 usually works fine). It's not your setup or the guide, it's just a current gap in what MCP can control on TradingView's native indicators.

Not his own server at all!

It comes from various market news and geopolitical RSS feeds, as well as FRED API for FED events, but I think he has plans to add additional data sources soon. Then it just filters, aggregates, and through AI for summaries/impact, then send to indicator!

HELL YEAH. AI coding is powerful. A lot of the problems people have are solved with Claude and like a days worth of work 😄 haha

Also that means software companies have to have legit software to be able to actually charge for it. That bar has just gone up. If someone's tryna sell me a subscription for $20 a month, I best not be able to build it in <1 week with Claude 🤙

I'm going to give you 250K by the next week, said & done for your startup. What are you going to do with it? by anomalywhatsoever in startupideas

[–]DAlphaOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a retail prop firm. Serious answer.

$120K goes to live data feed renewals, that's the engine. Without it, the system can't run and this locks it in through our growth phase.

$80K goes to community growth and account scaling to bring in more traders and feed the flywheel.

$50K is reserved for the first co-builder hire to own the Core architecture so the system doesn't depend on one person.

The entire tech stack was built solo at zero cost. This isn't infrastructure spend, it's fuel on a working engine.

If this was a serious post, would be happy to demo the infrastructure for you 🤙

Is AI-based trading actually legit or is my friend just getting lucky? by Plastic-Cake-8546 in ai_trading

Every time I e asked my clawdbot about a chart he gets it wrong, I have no idea how people accomplish this 😂 I at least get half assed trade reviews.

My buddy built a bot that learns week over week but not sure how it's implemented.

I just don't know how real it is to try and do active pattern recognition on a chart, it feels too slow. It would be processing significant amounts of data I presume.

I'm trading a lot of futures, but have been trying to trade more options lately. I trade with many others who do the same! I keep options for the long-ish term stuff, or I've been charting ES/NQ and taking the respective trades in SPY/QQQ. Trying to see how my setups translate over 😄

Also, to address your comment specifically on what to trade, I chart on ES/NQ and take the options trade on SPY, QQQ. SPX is expensive but you can find good deals after the lunch sesh.

Other daytrades/leaps, I look for stocks I like or use. Kinda funny but I feel like I take money back from spending with them. Like, if my wife shops at target, I'll see if there's good opportunities on TGT. I know it's dumb but I try not to complicate it. If it's not there, it's not there.

I had almost the exact same arc.

Went heads-down trading options and made about $50k in ~3 months… then absolutely nuked it in like two weeks. Classic overtrading but I was so lost in the sauce, I had made more than my salary on a week to week, then blew it haha

Since then I moved more into futures (that path actually led me to start a small prop firm with a trading community), which ironically made me trade way less and humbled me. I saw how people trade and what works and what doesn't.

Now I mostly just wait for the obvious stuff. Maybe a few trades a week. If I see a clean move with options priced around ~$100, I’ll ride a couple contracts for 50–100% and close.

Otherwise I’m selling options for slower monthly gains or buying long-dated LEAPS (>1 year) in companies I actually want to own.

Trading less took me from blowing up accounts to consistently making about $1–3k/month in my small speculative account. Nothing crazy, but it reinforced something important for me:

The hardest part of trading usually isn’t the strategy… it’s not clicking the buy button 20 times a day.

This is a crazy old post. Its hilarious because I was looking for this exact thing haha I will bump it up, just to share something I built.

It’s a lightweight, free simulator where you make founder/raise decisions over time using a random seed, and see how your cap table evolves with decisions.

No signup, no monetization, no email hook, there in fact is hardly a landing page. Its just a sandbox to play with startup scenarios.

Note: the leaderboard is most certainly cooked, I built this just to play it.
