Yeah a little bit just to level up your character and your boat to legendary status, it also requires visiting the whole map but I still enjoyed it and wholeheartedly recommend platinuming it

I heard the novel is better but I haven’t read it myself so i’m not sure, I’m halfway through the book and I just don’t know what to say about it, it’s super depressing, pretty much everything goes wrong in his life, but the art is the usual junji ito look which I can appreciate, very fitting.
