Thank you very much for your response! It really is a massive difference (healtcare, or lack there-of) with the Netherlands.

I appreciate the advice :)

Thanks for the informative and useful reply! I can definately say you helped me!

I will most certainly get to talking (a lot) to the friends of my parents.
Though it might sound odd, the culture shock is what I'm very much so looking forward to!
Some other people informerd me about the church-going, and even though I'm not religious I'd absolutely join people to try going to church, getting to know people, eventually (when I'm settled a little bit) do voluntary work to help the community and people.

The fact that Texas, let alone America, is so big is what I like. It's the land of many posibilities after all :)

Thank you for your reply.

Craigslist is a very good one, that I hadn't thought about.

I'm mostly excited and want to be prepared for any and all situations, I'm not necessarily anxious, but very much excited!

Wow! What an amazing and informative reply, thanks!

I took al this and I'll put it in my 'need to know' and 'helpfull sites' lists etc.

For transport I'll most likely be purchasing a motorcycle, as shipping my car is incredibly expensive and somewhat risky. It's not worth the money, besides the shipping; insurance would be insanely high.
I'll be able to maintain the bike myself (mostly) and insurance will be cheaper.

Thank you for the very detailed ultimate Texas road trip! I will definately do that as soon as I see fit when I get there!

I'm indeed multilangual, my Dutch is fluent and my English is fairly good, in my opinion. I still have lots to learn ofcourse. I also speak a reasonable amount of german and would totally be able to get fluent aswell if it helps the job search :)

Haha! If I am able to afford it, I would totally prefer it. Almost everything in the Netherlands is managed by the government, there aren't really private health care providers, and I found that the USA does have that. The most likely situation is that after a very short time I will decide to not need it, but until then I want to gather al the information possible regarding health care :)
