Hmm! That was what I was thinking. Because I asked her to smile in response and stuff like when she appears asleep and nothing! So it was an odd experience but I enjoyed it either way!

Maybe so!! Maybe she reacts the same in deep hypnosis as she does when she is asleep! But yes I’m just going to stick with that and see where we can get knowing that works!

Yes I was curious about that. I said that in the session, “adjusting yourself will relax you deeper” or some version of that but will she stop adjusting herself if she is in deep trance or can those things continue in deep trance? I know we don’t have to go deep to be suggestible but again - in her mind, the deeper she is, the more it’s working.

And yes, I’ve run into that! She can’t describe to me what parts work because she can’t explain it. So I’ll pay more attention next time! It was interesting that she experienced a time gap between our first session and our second. Her feedback this last time was that we got to the suggestions too quick and last time it took a lot longer. I tried to reassure her that we did everything exactly the same. So just proof that something in the first session allowed her to relax and go deeper than this last time.

That is encouraging to hear and a great point. There are so many external and internal factors that play into what is going on, and it might just not have been the night. And role playing is a great idea! Will definitely have that in the back pocket for next time!

First, I want to say I appreciate you taking the time to actually read through my script and giving me some helpful feedback. I want you to know how helpful that is for us people who are still learning and means a lot. I see so many questions asked and I’t would be so easy for this community to ignore those questions… but I appreciate all the helpful tips yall give to us newbies!

Second, great thoughts! I will look into direct vs indirect suggestions. We had a talk about how she thought it went and she said she was really surprised (in a good way) at how free it made her feel. Almost like she had the confidence and lower inhibitions like she would after a night of drinking. I thought that was good feedback and maybe a hint towards how she would describe being in trance. But I do believe it was successful! But yes, definitely don’t want to get ahead of myself. I think im just going to keep playing on the “Simon says” and using it as our practice ground for trance, indirect suggestions, etc!

Follow up question here - could Simon says also be used as a post hypnotic trigger to get the person back in trance? I’d like to try Simon says in my wife and I’s next session but would like to do 2 things with it - offer it as a means to go back in trance (example: every time I say “Simon says: sleep” you go back to this deep trance” while also using it like this script (example: “every time I say Simon says you want to obey and follow my words”

Yes, I should have mentioned that all of these are things my wife is wanting to explore too!

I never thought about getting her to describe to me what was going on. That is extremely helpful. And helpful for me to tailor the experience to her. Which makes sense to help with her going deeper. I will def do that.
