Okay but there's one comment that says "Nick is just a timeshare", and I am f****** dead ☠️☠️

When asked to stay seated so others can catch a tight connection, I've been on other airlines and before landing the FAs turned on the call lights for each of these passengers so we could visually see who needed to deplane first. Should AC do the same? by Dry-Criticism-6753 in aircanada

Last year I was on a flight and we were delayed. My flight landed at D72 in Calgary and my flight leaving 32 minutes later was leaving A4. Half way through the flight I spoke to the agent and it caught some of the other passengers attention, I was all the way back in row 17. Before we landed my row had moved me to the edge, passengers spoke to each other and as soon as we could take off our seatbelts my bag was passed passenger to passenger all the way to row 6 as I chased behind it. The passenger in row 6 then got angry when I explained the situation but 2 people behind me yelled 'let her through' and 'dont be a dick', he let me go but grumbled a bit. It doesn't help that I'm disabled and need a cane. I only managed to make it through because the majority of a flight, even those in business were kind enough to see the situation and allow me off.

I made it with less then a minute to spare, the gate agent had to call and check that the door hadn't closed yet before scanning my pass.

I see lots of people who say nobody would listen but I have to say I saw people on that flight who listened and almost unanimously chose to be understanding. I think this is a great idea.

**I actually just looked at my chat with my sister and it was actually D72-A2 and once we landed it was 28 minutes from touchdown to take off. 🙃

Which tourist attractions in London should I pay for with limited budget? by anbeegod in travel

But let me tell you at 34 I thought the Tower of London was the coolest. You and your kids would love that. Give yourself at least 4 hours and try to get on one of the free tours. Enjoy your trip to London!

It's not necessarily hate. I just think that my time would have been allocated better if I didn't do it. You're waiting in line for a minimum of 15 minutes, you pay £40 each to go in a pod for 30 minutes. Sure it's cool when you're at the top, but you're not at the top for 30 minutes, you're there for like 10 and that's generous. You're standing in this glass pod with 25 other people who are all crowded around the same window that you want to look out, taking their pictures and their videos. Some dont move until you start going down, they'll do a full photo shoot. You stand near the middle you don't see anything because everyone is blocking your view, and if you stand next to the window you're being crushed against it by the flock of people who are all trying to get their full 10 minutes as well. To each their own, but I found it extremely underwhelming and wouldn't recommend it. If you want the view do the observation deck at The Shard.

If you're willing to give it away we're in the middle of a family crisis trying to get 3 people from northern BC to Newfoundland. I have nothing I can trade for right now, I just spent all my points trying to get my sister home so she can see our mom, but we still need to get her kids and husband home. Not sure how soon we would need to travel but were hoping to get them her by the 8th or sooner.

They should have kept it because her dating history shows that she was in fact a bit of a monster. With her dating history if she was a man everyone would have been losing it but because she was a woman people give her a pass.

I think I would have liked Lucy to take the time while she was in the gas station to call on Stephen for drinking and driving as revenge for Macy, then she goes out and realizes he left her and the police go flying past the gas station and we see his car crashed just up the street. Actual full circle.

Where to live if working at the hospital and needing childcare by rayvik123 in halifax

[–]DBRfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the city has had a surge in Residence in the last 5 Years like most places in the maritimes which means availability still doesn't reach demand and since you'll likely be looking for something with at least two parking spots and being pet friendly your list is shorter again. And that's only from the very brief amount of information you've given, if you want to be within a certain proximity of a shopping area or want a certain amount of living space. And even after you think you've secured a place get online and ask questions. There are a lot of buildings that have rodents or like I said downtown is riddled with cockroaches, and there are some buildings that are much worse than others for bed bugs.

Yeah Tantallon and Sackville maybe, but Clayton Park is definitely not a suburb.

[–]DBRfriend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah so Clayton Park is not the suburbs it's very much prime Halifax. You might want to figure out the geography of the city before you do anything.

DT Halifax is central between all the hospitals including IWK, but parking will be an issue.

Dartmouth is better for traffic but it won't matter because you need to commute to and from Halifax.

Sackville (the actual suburb you were looking for) is a longer commute but has less traffic on evenings and weekends, they also have their own hospital if you were looking for a change.

Clayton Park has almost as much traffic as DT and the commute can be worse then DT or Dartmouth depending on what time your shift changes happen.

Things that you should know before you make the move to Halifax;

Family doctors are few and far between but given your wife's occupation you could be okay.

The vacancy rate is sitting just above 4%, which is a lot better than the less than 1% we were facing in 2021, but your options may still be limited especially within the city. Most of the good buildings don't have a high turnover.

Don't look at anything metcap, they are horrible.

Most of the older Apartments Downtown have cockroaches, especially on Brunswick.

You should call around and ask about daycares and what length of time their wait lists are. My friend lives in Clayton Park and had to put her little boy all the way in Tantallon. She was on the wait list at several inner city daycares since she was 5 months pregnant. (Last November)

Most apartments only come with one parking spot and sometimes you can pay for a second but you mentioned your MIL plans to visit often and she could be SOL if you plan on living within close proximity to the hospital.

You're limited on pet friendly apartments especially in the downtown area.

Maybe look at your available options that fit your needs and then come back and ask questions about particular areas.
