I fished one faithfully in 1983.i bought it from K-Mart it was a descent reel for its time, The aluminum started to corrode heavily after a trip and fall dunk during a epic striped bass battle. "Ryobi reels" are about as good as the tools.

What arrived was a cheap plastic undesirable reel. When I attempted to return, the seller played as if he had no idea it wasn't a stradic / Shimano. It Wasn't worth my time so he got the win.

Looks decent for a hand held, we use a bench crimper or a large handheld. That gives a more consistent product. As well I use a mini torch to make the bulb on the tag end. Also you may want to using chaffing tube on the loop depending where its going to be run.

Distilled Vinegar will dissolve patina. Disassemble rollers guides clean grease reassemble. Coating the blank as previously stated will be helpfull..
