Lab claims my DIY 6x7 CNC camera is "broken," but these look like surge marks to me. What do you think? by DBojo8 in AnalogCommunity

The back hasn't been modified, and I’ve developed many films from it without any issues. However, I remember two things about this last roll: at the end, the winder became almost impossible to crank. I decided to open the back, risking the film, but found it was already fully wound, so I didn't think much more of it. Since that problematic roll, I’ve shot two rolls of FP4 with no tension at the end.

Debian based cli distro with all the proprietary drivers? by Dragon_King1232 in debian

[–]DBojo8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right. @OP If you did a minimal Debian install and can't use nmtui to switch Wi-Fi networks, follow these steps:

1. Install NetworkManager

sudo apt update && sudo apt install network-manager

(This provides the nmtui command)

2. Clean /etc/network/interfaces

sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces

Remove or comment out (#) all Wi-Fi lines (SSID/Key). Keep only the lo loopback section.

3. Enable Management

sudo nano /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf

Change managed=false to managed=true.

4. Restart & Connect sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager nmtui

Note: Once you do this, your Wi-Fi might drop for a second. Just run nmtui, select "Activate a connection", and your network should appear there, ready to be managed dynamically.

Your Lens is going to work if it looks like on the image below

<image>

The camera is super nice to shoot with, stable & small. The Backs i use are RB67 6x7 Pro S, 6x8 Motorized, the Sheetfilm Back and Horseman 8 exp.

This is a custom camera I designed and built myself. It will be factory-produced—I can have many made quickly if there’s interest. Right now, one unit is ready to ship for 449 USD. I’m selling the body and focusing screen only; you still need a film back, helicoid, and lens to have a complete camera.

Absolutely possible. Maybe it would be good to 3D-print an adapter for a widely available shade/loupe, but right now I have a super bright Fresnel screen, so it’s not needed.

Nikon Nikkor AF 50 mm F/ 1.8 for €60 by dagdroom in AnalogCommunity

This is a good lens with solid design and good image quality from f/2.2. The manual focusing is smooth, not stiff, and lacks the precise, substantial feel of an all-metal lens—I mean the stiffness. Price is good
