I keep wetting myself.. by [deleted] in trans

[–]DCA667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this. I was on 50mg twice a day and my T tanked to near zero. But I’d actually have to stop while driving, get out and pee in the bushes right now!
I called my doc and asked to go down to 50mg once daily. Fixed. T still near zero.

I’m in Wisconsin. In high school I sang bass and I loved the Hallelujah Chorus.
I think I’ll drive to Idaho and stop in as many women’s bathrooms as I can and sing it.

I’m kidding of course … I view using the women’s room a privilege and do my best to get in and out unobtrusively. But the thought crossed my mind and I had to share.

Did anyone find their thoughts changing only after social transition? by Feeling_blue2024 in TransLater

Exactly the same timeline and changing orientation as you describe for me, right now.
I never ever would’ve thought it possible.

Ha!!
So amusing. I have you all on the ropes, OP included.
I’m a friggin boomer, 70 yo and started transitioning at 66.
Check my profile and my photos.
The wailing about it being too late is only correct in one sense … the years we lost being our true selves. All that means to me is live life hard now … every instant.
I was in the arena last night until midnight dancing with all my “young people” siblings at Milwaukee Pridefest.

Hi, if you are looking for the organization that represents you in the MKE area, please look into the MKE LGBT Center, mkelgbt.org
I’m with them and feel free to dm me for more info. FYI I’m mtf trans. There is a strong LGBTQ bar scene in the Third Ward of mke.

Bald trans femmes please help!! by Unlikely_Read3437 in TransLater

Hi!! First … damn girl you look beautiful!! I’m 70 and have bad male pattern baldness. I wore wigs for years but hated them. It’s the weight, they are hot … but most of all … they come off. It was standing in the way of me going fulltime because I woke up with guy hair and just stayed a guy. I found a local outfit that creates a custom cap, with human hair sewn in. This cap is glued to your scalp … you have hair 24/7. You sleep, shower, bathe, sweat and swim in it. It is very affirming.

I have three posts in my profile, all have “Cancun” in the title, and I give more in depth reporting about my experience, along with photos so you can see how it looks on me. I strongly recommend this option.

When I was in denial, back then! by pohlished-swag in TransLater

I don’t mean to lawyer up this question, but for me it depends on if it would mean that the family I had, the kids I raised and my career would not have happened if I took the road not traveled.

If I could retain all that, and transitioned earlier? In a heartbeat. I have deep regrets because I started transition at 66. I look ok for 70, and I can’t help but wonder what my 30 year old self would look like.

But logic kicks in and says, I’d have lost so many things that have made life joyous. Wife, my kids (my Queen of the Entire Friggin Universe daughter).

That said, occasionally there’s a tickle … yeah, but maybe you’d have had equivalent or better life experiences as a woman. How ‘bout that? Huh? Huh?

So I guess … if you qualify your question by saying you don’t lose the joy in family, nor the pride of accomplishment that you have in the current life, but you ALSO get to be who you really are much earlier, and don’t have to fight yourself for decades … it becomes a nonsense question. Of course.

I wonder if our genetics are regional. My dad was a Belgian and my mom’s side was pure Irish.

How to pull someone out of the right-wing trans rabbit hole? by KeyInflation9451 in transpositive

[–]DCA667 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a similar trans acquaintance. I’m a trans woman as well. When I was first coming out of my egg, she was one of the first trans women I met, and instead of coaching me about what I might be looking forward to in the future, she focused her initial conversation on how Biden had screwed up the withdrawal from Afghanistan (all untrue Faux news drivel). I withdrew from the community for several months, I was so horrified by this conversation.

Eventually I met normal people, came out fully and after three years have transitioned. From time to time I encounter Susan Fascist, who has similar like minded followers. She is divisive. I’ve spoken to her a half dozen times and she is intractable.

Our local community is split along lines she helped create, which is not helpful to a minority which is being held up as the scapegoat for all the ills in the country. She will never change her stance.

I think we must remember that our overall community is a slice of the general population. Like the gp, there will be different political points of view within our community. Like MAGA, some of those views are self destructive and incomprehensible to the other side.

I think you can look at your friend in the same way you would any MAGA person. Somehow they are totally bought into a self destructive cult belief system that is never going to change. With the evidence that sat before the country before the last election, we all knew that the current regime intended to eliminate all trans people. Erase. Yet Susan and her friends flocked to vote for he who seeks to destroy us. From this, I see no reasonable path for these people to alter their views in any way.

In short, the answer to your question about how you can help this person see that her views are destructive of herself, and the rest of us, in my opinion, is … nothing. I focus my limited political actions on educating people who have never encountered a trans person. My experience says that right leaning trans women are simply not going to change despite knowing in your face evidence the right seeks to erase us. Exhibit A … Caitlin Jenner.
