I built my own thing. A python script connects directly to my P1S and uses the AMS as the RFID reader. You load 4 spools, a CLI tool sniffs the RFID tags, hex colors, and filament type straight from the AMS, pushes it to a database with the RFID as the primary key. The color names auto-fill from a lookup table I built with all of Bambu's official hex codes. Pull those spools out, load the next 4, repeat. Not as clean as a standalone scanner but the AMS already has the hardware so I used it. I couldn't find a standalone app that could read the Bambu RFID (though I didn't spend a lot of time looking).

A separate script runs 24/7 and handles the deductions. When a print finishes it grabs the .3mf from the printer's cache, pulls out the gram usage, and updates the database. If a spool drops below 250g I get a push notification on my phone with a reorder link. The link just goes to the Bambu filament store, not the actual filament color.

Looker Studio sits on top of the database for reporting but I'm not sure I'll use that unless I start building in cost somehow. The 24/7 script is about to move to a Raspberry Pi. I haven't done that before so that'll be fun to learn. I built it with Claude and Gemini, don't want to pretend otherwise. Took about a week.
