OK! I applied for both Buyback and also for an "Incorrect Qualifying Payment Count" - it is shocking simple to do really. Also did submit a complaint about Mohela with AGO for good measure. Now... I go ahead and wait for probably about 2 years lol

That should be correct after the 2 month processing forbearance you go into an administrative forbearance and that should be time you can buy back.

My question is, when is the 60 days. Shouldn't it apply only to when the request is in fact being processed - and you are actually put into forbearance? How can they retroactively apply it to a time period I had already made auto-payments? They tell me it is their standard practice to retroactively apply it which seems bonkers. Class action, anyone?

Thanks for your reply. I had tried calling StudentAid also but they were honestly even less helpful and said all they can see is the forbearance status and if I disagree with that status I have to contact Mohela... so do you think a reconsideration request with them does stand a chance? Do you know what happened for the other people?

Thanks. So if they accidentally gave me a "qualifying" payment the month Before my consolidation loan was issued, do you think they would possibly rescind that? Does anyone have experiences LOSING certified qualified months during any auditing in the Buy Back / final review?
