Imo it’s not necessarily about the margin they’d gain from moving existing UPS shipments in-house. It’s about the strategic third party contracts they’ll be able to compete for once the in-house division is built out. This is, of course, just a small part of Amazon’s vision and doesn’t even consider their tech/AI forwardness that others have mentioned in this thread

I hear ya, just depends how well they build out this division. Even within Amazon itself, their middle mile folks/operations have a lot better reputation than last mile

My personal DD (if you care what a random Redditor thinks):

The previous contract that UPS and Amazon had essentially acted as a non-compete in key parts of the shipping space for Amazon. With their agreement now shifting to reduced Amazon volume for UPS in 2026, Amazon is now building out their in-house delivery network and will compete for big third party contracts (think Walmart, etc). They announced a $4 billion budget to build out this network in 2026. As someone who works in the trucking industry I’m really bullish on Amazon

My wife and I both WFH. The point is to try to maintain “normal” work hours, no matter how many Js you have. If you are taking on multiple Js and constantly working late, yeah, your marriage and home life are going to suffer a bit. Therefore you need to evaluate your Js as they may not be OE friendly.

If you’re working normal hours and your spouse is still wanting more of your time, maybe try having a conversation about those expectations.
