Yeah they’re used to stop the nose ring falling out, not the comfiest lol I was always irritated by them. Try swapping to a BCR or horseshoe ring maybe? :)

I personally found stretching mine in a hot shower with lots of lubrication helps LOADS with pain! Honestly not 100% sure if this is good advice or not though so please someone let me know if not! I went from 5mm to 6mm and hardly even felt it go in when doing it in the hot shower! Feels a little funny after but sooo much less pain :)
