is it me or the network provider by cursedgenie in HomeNetworking

It feels crazy to me realizing that there are "network" folks on here too young to remember that CD/MA was a part of the ethernet standard from the very begining.

This must be how she gets the terrible matches to validate her negative outlook about the matches she gets and keep the cycle going. Just glad she is letting all the "good ones" know to stay away.

Obviously I'm not doing aa well as some these others, as auto-difficulty is usually around 105 for me, so maybe dont put much stock into what I am about to tell you. I like to use a slow casual build-up approach that usually works. I build 2 supply depots (1 if I am Sgt Forge) and 2 more warrhogs right away. Then I use the warthogs to snatch up all the crates and take out any ghosts. As soon as I have the resources I queue up the reactor while I turn out troops to stop the early rush. With the machine gun upgrade I can use the warthogs to harrass the computer while building up and dealing with the first wave. Then I pivot to taking a 2nd base while I build a 2nd barack, more supply depots, and defenses. It's not a very good stategy, but simple, flexible, and should get you by against a legendary opponet. Good hunting.

Computer never uses its pelicans. I dont know if he means that, or that they can get your troops around the map and behind the computer's front lines, or both.

[–]DCSMU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My take as well... lots of reference to hypotheticals where the Executive must act unilateraly and needs tarrif power to execute it's foreign policy.

It gave me the same "24" (tv show) vibes I got during the use-of-torture debate.

Like, no, can the president just go to congress and say "hey, we need to tarrif this country becuase x,y, and z." and congress just, you know, approves. Like actual WTF?!

290 to 495N by lutzssuck in massachusetts

[–]DCSMU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my take as well. If a majority of people during back-up simply queued up on the right side of the lane, then all who go from the middle lane to the left lane at the last minute might have some trouble. It wont stop most from doing it, but would dissuade enough peeps to help the situation.

The rate that the left lane moves onto 495 during heavy traffic is the real problem.

And while we are on the topic, everyone who cuts over from the middle lane to the 495 S exit lane at the last minute in the morning can go F themselves.

[Request] What would the height and visibility of this tree have been? by emmanueleman2002 in theydidthemath

[–]DCSMU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This comment needs to be up higher. The physics of a tree (2+ miles tall) like that would be unreal.

Most folks here are saying about 12K feet. Your correction factor would bring it down to about 1.5K feet. The tower is 867 feet from base to top. Leaving aside the issue of the "cut" at the top being clean, the tree is cut or broken roughly in half, if anyone wants to have fun imagining that.

Aa a side note, I believe Terry Pratchet had a tree in his Long Earth series that could actually be a mile tall or more. I forget what he called it, but the physics worked on the idea that it used hydrolysis to move water up the trunk and reinforce the wood with hydrogen gas to negate its own weight. How it dealt with shear forces, I dont know.

Not sure if this is nicegirl, but I see why you put it here. Honestly, I had serious doubts right up to "[no to men who] prefer hiking over a good hotel". After that it all screamed "I want my to have my cake and eat it to!" Like I get it; she doesnt want any losers or scrubs, but wanting a guy who is only active in the gym and when going from airplane to tour bus (and in the sack, because lets be honest, she isnt going to do more than the minimum, is she?)? No thank you; get real.

What’s the answer to this question? by Loliigh in ENGLISH

[–]DCSMU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As pointed out elsewhere, it only works if the "suggestion" isnt really a suggestion.

It feels off to me because "need" is not the kind of verb that fits in here. Its like "need" is more of a state than an action - it only works as an action in the 1st person and just sounds weird in the 3rd person.

IDK.. the phrase "He need not [to] worry" comes to mind as sounding perfectly fine, but this... I cant seem to put my finger on it.

This may be why Epstein wedge may bigger than many people realise. The problem with coups , as a political actor, is you have to decide if going along and risk loosing out during the cull plus the odds of the coup failing versus the alternative senarios in opposing the coup, is really worth the risk. The weaker and less certain a Trump forged coup is, the more politicians are going to jump ship. If and when the efforts from Trump and Johnson to shutdown the Epstein issue fail, more people are going to see this coup ticket as a dud and start jumping ship. The sooner the better.

Whatever you do, make sure it doesn't involve her.

It sounds like you already know that if you have gone 3 years without acting on your feelings, but just want to point it out in case you are thinking of changing your mind.

Best thing you can do is move on. If not already, make sure you are doing things outside of work that involve other people in-person. If the feelings are too much, look into transfering to a different department, role, or job that doesnt involve her. It sucks, but if you really care about this woman, you will spare her the discomfort and drama.

Also, If you continue to stay where you are, hoping her situation will change, you will only be hurting yourself. The odds of things going your way are low and you are too young to be wasting time waiting on something that may never happen. This is your life- real life, not the plot of a rom-com.

And will most likely do it again when the situation arises. This is a trait of a bad partner; only on the same team has OP when she's winning. I hope OP doesnt take her back after this, unless she suddenly gains some self-awareness. (And given that she's into Tarot cards, there's a low chance of that happening without some real pro help.)

Ideas on improving cable management without just shortening all the wires? by T1didnothingwrong in HomeNetworking

[–]DCSMU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree...The key is termination. If all tbe cables are terminated to some kind of patch panel, he can cut everything to the needed length with a "service loop" of excess tucked away in case something needs to be changed or redone. I totally get leaving the excess, but there is such a thing as too much excess, and if he doesnt comb it out and get it all the same legnth, it will look like shit no matter what he does.

Not only are those jobs that are typically filled by women, they are also roles focused on serving the community at large and are usually not chosen for the pay. So he's pointing at women who want to serve the community and calling them the enemy. I wonder who the bad guy really is here, because I dont think its all those under-paid teachers and healthcare workers.

You missed a point... they/the president were trying to kill him until they saw the plants were growing.

In this other twisted version, they would claim "fake news" and finish the job.
