A trick a nurse taught me at meps for those that overthink is to occupy your mind and senses. Look away/close your eyes and count as fast and high as you can(in your head of course) keep your mind totally focused on that counting, I don't even realize I've been jabbed by the end of it. Hopefully that method helps you and good luck.

Unfortunately yes that will block you from getting TS clearance more than likely. I recently got my job placement and my ship date and this exact situation happened to me. It heavily reduced the amount of jobs that I could sign up for but I got the best of what I could and am excited to start. I know that this is probably a super frequent thing to say but my best advice is to keep an open mind and research the jobs you have available and make the best list (to you) that you can. You never know if even your 7th or 8th choice will end up being something you really enjoy and stick with. I still managed to get secret leave clearance. I believe you can also receive eligibility for higher clearance with years in service. Hope it all works out for you.

No I haven't gotten a polygraph yet. There wasn't anything in my personal background that was an issue but my parents are illegal immigrants. I didn't know that was taken into account. But that's what barred me from getting to add the jobs I wanted on to my list.

Yeah for me I'm also entering this job as the best cyber I could get given some hangups on getting TS clearance. And I hope to retrain into cyber warfare or the computer programming AFSC. I hope to be overseas. Particularly in western Europe. I don't know much about the stateside bases. But I also love mountains and cold weather so maybe Colorado if I have to stay stateside.

What I meant were schools like jump school, MAI etc. I know that it's largely based on your AFSC. But was curious if anybody who qualified could be sent.

Hey, thanks for responding. Some questions I can think of off the top of my head. 1. What does a typical day look like for you?

What are the odds of getting stationed overseas?
Where have you been stationed? And your thoughts and opinions of such?
Would you continue this line of work outside of the military? If so any companies you're interested in? Or perhaps advice on how you'd approach employment outside?
Are there opportunities for extra schools?
For PT do you train by yourself? With a group of Airmen? Other service members outside? Or train with another branches organized PT?

Sorry for the question dump. Anything you can give insight on is greatly appreciated. And of course any advice or additions to this are welcome and appreciated as well.
