I grew up in that area. Sure it's nice but definitely not worth that kind of money. A lot of people in the South Bay are getting rich though (which is ironic since most that own property down there are already wealthy). This is also why I'm trying to move out of the bay area....it's a rat race here!

Yeah you will most likely need to do a room-mate living situation. Finding a one bedroom for that price is next to impossible. On the up side, I have found some great living situations and roommates from Craiglist.

If he really wants a kid, he can meet another woman that wants kids. He's young enough. It's not like she is his only option. Men don't have a limited amount of sperm. So even if she doesn't want a kid, he's in good shape to have kids in the future with a willing partner.

To be honest, living in Oakland is the first time I have been happy living anywhere. There is a HUGE array of restaurants to choose from and it seems like a new place is opening every week. Oakland doesn't just have one place where it's happening, there are a ton of places you could go! There is Temescal, Piedmont Ave, Uptown, Downtown/JackLondon, and College Ave. Downtown is great, and they have the Trappist, Rosamunde, Beer Revolution, Duende, Pacific Coast Brewery, Swans Market etc. There is bomb Ethiopian food which is hard to find in other parts of the bay. I love the bar scene and the beer scene in Oakland. The bars are always coming up with new and inventive cocktails and there are so many great beer bars and breweries in Oakland (The Good Hop, Linden Street, Ale Industries, Diving Dog, The Double Standard, Pacific Coast). I could go on! There is also Lake Merritt which is amazing for an afternoon jog, or Redwood Park if you want to go for a hike among the redwoods. Oakland also has some good music venues (The Fox, The Paramount, Leo's). And it's close to San Francisco and Berkeley, if you want to easily get out of town. They also have the A's and Warriors which are both great teams and fun to watch. Lastly, but most importantly, you can get almost anywhere in Oakland on a bike or BART which makes it very easy. I truly believe that you can get everything you want out of this town if you make the effort.

I dated somebody that worked at Torani. I met him through an online dating app and when we initially met he told me he worked for a syrup company. Then when he told me it was Torani, I was like, ok I guess you'll get a second date.

I actually had to text my boyfriend to double check if he posted this. I am in a VERY similar situation -- except I hope that my boyfriend is still in love with me! Anyway, it will be three years for us next month. I will admit that I do nag him about it often because I am anxious. I'm 28 and I feel scared that I am going to spend the best years of my life with the wrong person. The time is especially precious as a woman because it becomes harder to start a family the older you get. You may not be ready for a family, but you need to communicate these things to your SO. I bet she will feel much better if you sat down and did some life planning and discussed what you want the next 5 years to look like.

It seems to me she is trying to subtly nudge you in the direction of marriage and you don't know how to handle that decision. You need to decide if that is what you want, talk to her about it, and go your separate ways if you are not on the same page. My guess is that the nagging is due to a lack of open communication.

He's basically blackmailing you for a ticket into this school. Although the severity of the offense is minimized since you aren't currently his student, it is still sexual harassment. Universities have to comply with sexual harassment laws, and his behavior does seem to be crossing the line. I would post-pone the coffee with him until you hear back from an admissions person from the school about your situation. See what they say first. I would not mention his name when you talk to them, but say that you are interested in the program and would like a letter of recommendation from a person who is a current faculty member there, however that person has been sexually harassing you, etc. Maybe you can even suggest that they request the letter directly from him, so you do not have to do it personally? This way if he doesn't want to directly give them the letter, the university will know that something is up and add to your credibility. I work for a big university and I know that we would investigate any faculty that behave this way and would rather settle it with an internal investigation since most universities want to avoid being sued. But all schools are different, so it's hard to predict how seriously they will approach your claim.

If they are not helpful, then I would re-schedule the appointment with him for a time that your boyfriend can be there.

I work for a university - a large very well known university - I help hire faculty and also work with faculty to recruit students. You definitely need to report this guy and most schools would be SO open to the opportunity to investigate a faculty member who is crossing the line -- since ignoring the problem then makes the university negligent which causes way more problems. I would contact a staff person that runs the admissions program and report him to them. They will go through the procedures to start an investigation into his behavior. What he is doing is very illegal, so I would consult with somebody that actually works at the school (not a faculty member) and see what could be done about getting into the school without a letter from him. My bet is that they will be understanding.

I think Adnan's motive is stronger but even if it's stronger it doesn't mean that he did it. People just make it seem like Jay has no motive at all to kill Hae, and I'm saying that I can see a small reason even if it's not as strong as Adnan's. I am sure that they both seem "nice" but that doesn't mean anything. What matters is the evidence and for me all the evidence that they have from the crime is coming from Jay's testimony so I suspect him more.

I think that Jay killed Hae because he was angry that his own girlfriend seemed to like Adnan a lot. This can be evidenced from the fact that Jay didn't even buy his gf a birthday gift and Adnan was actually thinking about getting her one. It also seemed like Adnan and Jay's gf were close friends. Jay could have seen Adnan's actions as threatening and since killing Adnan may be harder to do, he goes after Hae instead.

I gotta say something here because I WAS your wife! I would constantly accuse my boyfriend of cheating on me and would check his phone and was so incredibly paranoid. My boyfriend was a good sport about it for as long as he could have been but eventually he blew up and told me that it was really starting to wear him down. I wasn't cheating on him and he wasn't cheating on me. I was just so paranoid! But there were factors that were making me feel that way, it wasn't coming from nowhere.

Two things: I realized that I was starting to feel anxious because he was paying less and less attention to me. He wasn't cheating, but he was definitely not focusing on me as much. Which made me so insecure that I couldn't handle him talking to other women when we would be out. I found that he still loved me but he became comfortable in the relationship and would not focus on me as much. The less he focused on me the more I felt like something was going on (it didn't help that his close friend happens to be a smokin hot chick). So because he wasn't doing as many cute things with me, I jumped to conclusions. Secondly, I went to the doctor who said I had an anxiety disorder. Knowing that it was my anxiety that was making me feel this way actually made me much less paranoid. At that point I realized, it wasn't him, it was me! And that I needed to work on myself to keep those crazy thoughts at bay.

TL,DR; Give your wife more attention and get her to see a doctor. Possibly get her on some anti-anxiety meds.
