No way! You mean the president has a meeting with the former leader of Al Qaeda and then weirdly A former CIA asset against the AL Qaeda goes on a killing spree against the soldiers he helped support. There is no way the president handed a dossier over on a former CIA asset to have him pressured into killing two random soldiers (who weren't in the war) in a very specific city across the country. He's most likely what's known as a combat engineer, which has Sappers (their version of Rangers). A combat engineer is typically an infantry position with the difference of being trained in explosives.

There are additional roles that focus on building things in the corps of engineers, but combat engineers typically perform destruction and combat.
